On tap at Societe in San Diego. Pours crude oil black with full creamy brown head. Malt and coffee on the nose. Flavour is beautiful hazelnut and dark chocolate with notes of expresso. Wonderful bitter hops on the long dry finish. Overall a great beer to sip in front of the fire.

On tap @ the brewery. Near black in the glass, copper brown highlights. Hearty dark roast, bitter chocolate and coffee, full bodied, some dark caramel sweetness, undertones of bread and licorice. Nice.

Pours black with a medium mocha head. Aroma big roastiness, dark fruits, tobacco and a hint of smoke. Flavor follows suit and adds layers of bakers chocolate and a touch of espresso. Mouthfeel is medium and creamy with a roasty and dry finish that warms and lingers.

Pitch black and opaque with a one finger dark mocha head that quickly settles into a thick, lasting ring. Streaks of soapy lace left behind. Nice roasted malt aroma with sweet chocolate notes. Well balanced with dark and milk chocolate notes, gourmet coffee bean and oatmeal countered by baker’s chocolate and dessert fudge/cake-like sweetness. Medium bodied and slightly viscous with a nice balance of deep roast and sweet malt notes. Burnt sugars, roasted coffee bean, oatmeal and dark chocolate countered by lactose cream, sweet bakers chocolate, fudge, dark chocolate cake, caramel and toffee. Nicely balanced. Really dry and slightly burnt up front but the lactose and sweeter malt notes come in on the back end balancing things out. ABV is invisible making this beer very easy to drink.

Delicious strong stout with coffee and cocoa notes. Not boozy, despite the high alcohol content. Unusual mouth feel
