My Bottom Line:
Biscuity honeyed malts lift citrusy hops in this crisp and refined IPA.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam protects the clear straw golden.
-The mouthfeel is engaging and conducive to great gulps.
-Hops are also herbal and a tad resinous.
-I didn’t find this one more aromatic or more flavorful than their Publican (Pale Ale), so I fail to see why I would drink this IPA instead of its less alcoholic sister.

On tap at their brewery tasting room.

2-4 oz bottle pour at SAVOR 2015’s Saturday night session. Golden yellow with off-white head. Aromas of citrus and floral notes. Tastes of citrus, floral notes, lemon lime and grapefruit. Medium body with a dry finish. Very nice IPA.

Savor. Quite possibly the best IPA I have ever had the pleasure to sip. Aromas of hops of the citrus/tropical variety. Followed though in the taste, totally in balance. My only regret is that it doesn’t make it to DC.

On draught at City Beer Store. Pours a hazy yellow with moderate and retained white head. Aroma is moderate tropical and slight pine. Taste gives more of the tropical aspects, with a moderate bitterness.

Draft. Straw-colored, but hazier. Very tropical brew. Grassy nose, but a sweet fruity flavor. Passion fruit and guava are huge. Resinous backdrop, fresh grass. Sugary sweet and as quaffable as any IPA I’ve come across.

On tap at the brewery. It pours a clear pale yellow color with a thick foamy white head. The aroma is potent with spicy green onion and earth, orange and grapefruit. The flavor is nice and super clean with citrus spice, green onion and a dry finish. Very well done.

Clear light yellow pour with a nice white head. Massive citra nose. Crisp taste, nice bitterness and a clean finish. Really good.

Drinkable light and mellow ipa that seems to be everywhere in san diego. Pale color with white head. Aroma is fruity light citrus and mild berry fruits. Crisp and light but lacking late hop additions or dry hopping imo.

Perfect balance of the hop usage, simco and nelson seem to be a great air. Smooth caramel malt backbone to round this guy out. Super nice crips bitterness. Taste and finish of pine. One of best in SD.

[2/20/15] Draught at Societe in San Diego. Clear golden. Lovely hoppy aroma full of citrus and tropical fruits. Flavor of fruity hops, tropical and citric, rather dry, with a bitterish finish. Medium-bodied.
