3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap @ Societe tap room: Aroma is real skunky with hops and reminds me of nelson but also reminds me of an orchard of orange trees because of how strong scent of citrus actually is. The flavor is funky with a taste of bitter citrus like hops that hint towards lemon zest or lime shavings, but also has a taste of Belgian yeast even, although, I am sure there was none added. Notes of bitter hops and an aftertaste of dry and spicy notes of hops. Appearance was a glowing golden yellow topped with a decent formation of head.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
This poured a lighter shade of yellow and you could smell the hops drifting upward. A very light base but the hops donít overwhelm it. You get citrus and floral notes. The bitterness is on the aggressive side but no palate mauling. Brewers Association dinner at The Tasting Kitchen in Venice.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Churchillís - San Marcos, CA earlier this month. Nice bristly and pine cone aroma. Some pineapple bread, a little bit of Jeffrey pine, and a fair amount of alcohol. As much as this is raved about, I much, much, much, much prefer the Publican. The added heat is not good here, itís just boozy and too much. Thereís not enough malt body to hold up the alcohol and somehow the hoppiness seems diminished. I think this is pretty middle of the pack as West Coast IPAs go.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On draught at Societe. Pours a hazy golden color with a fluffy white head. Aroma is tropical fruit, cracker. Semi sweet and dry. Really pretty awesome because of the hops, but also because how nicely balanced this beer is.
