4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Tap @ PP Carlsbad. Beautiful hazy and vibrant light golden color in the class with a froth of white foam. Aroma is not necessarily the most pungent but there is a nice mix of light white wine from the nelson with some hop bitterness and pine. Taste is hop dominated with citrus, pine, and medium bitterness over a fairly clean, lightly sweet malt backbone. Good IPA.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draft at Toronado SD. Hazy straw color with a lacy whIte head. Aroma is dank as F, grapefruit, lemon, herb. The flavor is tough, citrusy, brutal. Legit. Rough feel, lots of reasons, average carbonation. Strong offering.

Pint poured at societe brewery in Kearney Mesa. Pours hazy yellow with small white head. Smells of tropical fruit and pine. Taste is hops with citrus (seems to be common flavor in San Diego). Another great beer. Great for sipping in warm weather. Gonna miss this place.

This is a perfect beer. My only issue is that Societe doesn’t bottle or can it.

Yellow body, almost clear, half inch of white head. Bouquet of hops in the aroma. Lovely citrus fruit hop character. Soft bitterness. Really fresh and delightful.

First beer of my RBWG 16 trip. Tap. City beer. Strong citra nose with light grass. A light thin malt backbone, just short of watery. Minimal carbonation. Hope come across as mostly grassy in the flavor. Decent but not grate.

On tap @ the brewery. Hazy light yellow, lasting white head. Hop profile is grassy and green with some gooseberries and guava, grapefruit too. Very bright, with slightly sweet pale malts, and a long bitter finish. Man, these guys make nice hoppy beers.

Rating #1516 - 17.03.2015 - On tap at Amplified Ale Works. Pours a golden amber with a bubbly light head. Aroma is mild grass, mild pepper, mild doughy malt. Other reviews suggest a fruit bomb, my pour had a very faint hint of orange rind, but otherwise light sweet malt, light pepper, low-medium carbonation. Not great, I feel I got an offpour (end of keg, old keg?)

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Draft at Hamilton’s Tavern in San Diego, CA. March, 2013.
Pours a very hazy, pale golden straw yellow color with banana hues and a 1.5 finger frothy, pillowy white head. Nice retention, slowly settling into a thick, lasting ring. The pint is left coated with streaks of soapy lacing.
Dank floral hop aroma with grassy pine and a ton of tropical/citrus fruit. Pale biscuity malt backbone with cracker, bread and light fruit. Resinous oils, dank buds and pine followed by hints of grapefruit, pineapple and lemon peel. The earthy and sweet hop notes are countered by biscuit, bread and graham cracker.
Medium bodied with a crisp, spicy hop bite that lingers throughout. The mouthfeel is perfect. Light enough to pound yet a touch creamy with a complex hop profile and subtle pale malt presence. Dry, dank and bitter up front with a perfect fruit presence. Not overly tropical/citrusy like some other WCIPAs but just enough for great balance. Some pineapple and grapefruit sweetness along with subtle citrus rind. Pale malt backbone with biscuit, bread and cracker flavors that don’t interfere with the fresh hop character. This is a great IPA that very refreshing and easy to drink without giving up any complexity. I would drink this beer all of the time given the chance.
