On tap @ Societe. Just about black pour with a khaki head. Cocoa powder, roasted malt, and coffee aromas up front. Some dark chocolate, earthy hops, pine, and a lot of floral notes. Mild toffee. Flavor is kind of sweet with some bittersweet chocolate, toffee, and toasted bread character. Fair amount of roasted malt and coffee. Bitter piney hops, some earth, lots of floral notes, and a touch of cocoa powder.

Draft pour at Societe! Very mellow and smooth with a bold hoppy citrus profile, but with the added kick of roasted malt!

Tap at Societe. Pours a cascading black with tan head. Aroma is roasted malts with some piney hops coming through. Taste is more roasted malts, creamy mouthfeel with more hops biting at the tongue. Solid for the style.

Solid dark ale, superior to many black IPAs, enjoyed at their tasting room. Chocolate malts out front, and then the hops. Lacy. Roast in the finish.

On tap at Societe, pours near-black with a small beige head. Aroma brings out roasted malt, toasted notes, and piney hops. Flavour brings out a good balance of roast and piney hops - extremely well-crafted and without any harshness. Excellent stuff.

Draft. Dark brown in the glass with a off-white head that left good lace. Aroma and flavor of roasted malt with a backing of light citrus hop. Light to medium body with a light roast aftertaste.

Sample at the tasting room. This brew is a deep brown color with a medium tan head that recedes slowly. Small patches of lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of roasted malt, hops and chocolate. Medium body with flavors of piney hops, toasted malt and cocoa. The finish is malty up front with a resiny hops aftertaste. Pretty good overall.
