COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Big Basin Ryeizen- a brew from Cory This southern German-style wheat beer was made with a blend of wheat and rye malts to produce a mahogany colored, dark wheat beer. It brings forth a bready aroma and flavor typical of the style, without the prominent banana-clove character. The wheat and yeast in suspension gives this beer a full, creamy mouth feel that progresses to a lighter finish. It is full of flavor with delicious malt character and low yet balancing noble hop bitterness.

On tap at bier thirty. Pours out a muddy amber topped with a small sand head. Nose heavy malts earthy bread and sweetness. Taste is as the nose with the bread malt and a touch of banana. Sockeye I am a fan but not of this beer. Not even close to the style.

On tap at the Original Boise brewpub hazy light brown. Strange color. Light toasted malt aroma. Some Belgian yeast flavors. More of the fruity kind. A little woody zip to it. Light bodied and lovely carbonation.

Pours a very hazy amber.. So cloudy it looks a little gray.. Weird.. Light banana.. Lesser clove phenol.. Dry toast.. Rye essence is pretty nice... A bit thicker body than I would like.. 1/2 pint is plenty.
