This medal winning India Pale Ale is brewed in the true Northwest fashion. It has an intense hop flavor and aroma with a dry bitter finish. It definitely has enough hops to "send you over the edge."

Boy I sure miss my San Diego selection but this beer is pretty darn good. It has everything you want in an IPA hops little bit of citrus and really nice smell to it.

Draft at the brewpub. Light amber in color, drawing you in. Very well laced head, laddering down the glass. This is a yummy west coast IPA, focused on a nice citrus-blossom character. Good stuff. (#4676, 7/7/2012)

I am a huge fan of IPA’s and also drinking local if I can. So when I am wanting a good local IPA, Sockeyes is second to none in the valley.

UPDATED: JAN 27, 2013 I first got this on draft at Si Bueno in McCall, ID. Clear amber with white head. Nose of citrus and pine. Medium body. Smooth mouthfeel. Flavor is nicely bitter and the finish is dry. Excellent. More recently I got this in a can (via six pack) again in McCa;ll, ID. This shows great craft beer can come in a can.

Comes out of the tap an attractive, somewhat hazy dark amber. I’m not sure about the head, since the server didn’t allow for much of one, but it did leave some scattered lacing. Aroma is strongly hoppy and evergreen with an undertone of sour orange. Flavor is evergreen hoppy, like any really good IPA, and has a sour citrus undertone that is mainly orange with hints of grapefruit. Texture is quite fizzy and edgy, leaving a nice hoppy tingle.

Draft @ the Brewpub. Pours a golden color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity hoppy grapefruit aroma. Smooth malty hoppy bitter grapefruit flavor. Has a long hoppy bitter grapefruit finish.

Pours hazy gold with a white head. Smells of juicy citrus, grapefruit. Tastes of grapefruit, peppery, bitter with a sweet citrussy finish.

Bottle courtesy of jcwattsrugger. 12oz bottle pours hazy deep copper with off white head. The aroma is sweet with caramel and malts as well as vague citrus hops and a sense of pine hops off in the background. The taste begins a bit tart with grapefruit and orange peel like sharp hop bitterness and only giving up a sliver of ground to malt sweetness from time to time. It mainly stays bitter with citrus hops right to the finish and getting a tad resiny too. Nice bitter IPA. I had it recently on tap too and it seemed to have less tart like acidity than the bottle.

On tap at Sockeye. Light copper color with a nice head and small amount of lace left in the glass. Plenty of citrus and flower aroma. Real smooth taste with the hops overpowering the malt. Nice smooth finish at the back of the mouth. The is a real nice beer.
