COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This medal winning India Pale Ale is brewed in the true Northwest fashion. It has an intense hop flavor and aroma with a dry bitter finish. It definitely has enough hops to "send you over the edge."

Can courtesy of Brooke (thanks!). Copper pour, frothy off-white. Aroma of fresh hop, grapefruit, pine. Tastes are evergreen, orange, grapefruit, woody. Little dry in the finish. Great balance, very nice.

Draft: Dark orange / amber pour with a nice frothy head. Solid blend of floral and citrus hops, a little bit of pine, and some malts to balance. A well done IPA from Sockeye!

Got in a trade with TheFugitive. 12 ounce can into pint glass, no canning date. Pours hazy orange amber color with a 2-3 finger dense and fluffy cream colored head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass. Aromas of grapefruit, orange zest, tangerine, lemon zest, pine, floral, grass, caramel, and floral earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great complexity of hop notes with a moderate malt balance; and good strength. Taste of big grapefruit, orange zest, tangerine, orange rind, floral, pine, grass, caramel, and floral earthiness. Good amount of floral/pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of citrus, citrus zest, pine, floral, grass, caramel, and floral earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity of hop flavors with a moderate malt balance under the bitterness; and zero cloying bitterness after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a creamy, crisp, and sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is an excellent IPA. All around great balance and complexity of hop flavors with moderate malt sweetness; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

On Tap at Kahootz. A hazy medium dark amber with a small white head. Aroma is a strong hops and citric rind. Flavor is a very bold hoppy taste but full and balanced with malts. Fell is heavy and substantial, and the finish is the classic IPA bite. Glad to see a good offering from a local brewer.

September 2012. Found this one last time I was in Boise. Amber color with a white head. Nice balance and complexity. Plenty of hops and a dry, bitter finish.

grower from ditmer, thanks! Dank earthy aroma, musty citrus, like odd cologne. Light bronze. juicy and earthy. Citrus and wet on one side, woodsy and dry on the other. Light bodied, lingering dry aspirin finish.

I really enjoyed this (on tap at Papa Joe’s), lots of hop flavor without the overpowering tartness. Hazy amber with a small creamy head, mild pine bitterness, abrupt finish. Enjoyable and highly drinkable.

Reviewed from notes. This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance had a shaded orange to copper color with a glazed over brownish tints closer to the center of the glass. There was a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute leaving some light lacing here and there. The smell had a sharp grapefruit to citrus (slightly tropical and enticing) with a light pine weaving it’s way in the aroma. The taste was pure bittersweet arranging a nice orange flavoring to come out nicely. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a pretty good acceptable sharpness normally tasted in an AIPA coming from the Northwest. Overall, pretty good AIPA that I would definitely have again.

Orange mostly clear body with minimal head. Buckets of fresh hops in the aroma and some bready malt. Lightly nutty and quite citrusy with medium bitterness. Medium body dry finish. Not bad.

UPDATED: JAN 8, 2004 Pours a hazy amber, with a nice creamy head and great lacing. Floral and citrus hop aromas almost cover up all the malt. Well balanced flavors of malt and hops, a bit of bread comes out as well. Very delectable. Creamy palate. Damn fine IPA
