BlackDonald (1127), Boise, Idaho, USA Jul 29, 2008 Pretty decent and as true to style as I have seen in an American take on this style. Bread, biscuity maltiness, with some floral noble hops that lend a bit of herbs and grassy hay notes in the nose. Good mouthfeel. skoisirius (570), Seattle, Washington, USA Jul 14, 2008 On tap at brewery. Pours a completely see through gold. Sweet bitter bread mixed with hops is the aroma. A round malt aspect through the body with subtle hints of Noble hops and a tiny bit of grass. I get a bit of butter on this one as well. Flavor mainly shuts down through the finish, leaving a trace of hops. Overall pretty decent for a Kolsch! Bradrcr (778), Renton, Washington, USA Mar 15, 2008 3/7/08 on draught at the brewpub. Aroma is sweet, fruity and floral. Appearance is very clear yellow gold with a moderately maintained white head. Flavor is very well balanced with faint fruity/earthy hop flora and simple pilslike sweetness. Mouthfeel is low bodied, slightly creamy with a medium carb feel. Overall, quite good; I may be slighlty partial to this possibly less attenuated version, but whatever it is, it works.
BuckeyeBoy (1635), Boise, Idaho, USA Aug 11, 2007 On tap at brewpub pours out a great clear gold topped with a white head. A little grain aroma along with a little hops. A little malt on it as well. Nate (2533), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 23, 2007 Numero 1800, on tap at brewery. Mild grain-beany aroma, with sweet malt graininess and light fruity hoppiness. Golden clear with white foamy lacing head. Light bodied with medium carbonation. Crisp and clean with carbonic acidity, a bit bolder than most kölsch and a bit more bitter - like a kölsch on juice. Overall, though, it’s well balanced and is very refreshing. Paired well with the burger I had for lunch. jake65 (1657), Williston, North Dakota, USA Mar 21, 2007 Draft: Golden, clear pour with a large white head and thick, sheet lacing. Nose is a modest floral hop and malty combo. Taste is malty, fruity, and ends with a lingering bitter dryness. Very pleasant. IndianaRed (1553), Boise, Idaho, USA Aug 18, 2006 On Tap at the BrewPub A clear light golden with a modest quick white head, and spotty lacing. Light grains and easy on the hops makes it refreshing and clean. Very slight bitterness at the end and a light feel. Pleasantly surprised. pinkzambia (986), Boise, Idaho, USA Jul 15, 2006 On Tap at brewpub: Clear gold with runny lacing. The aroma is balanced followed by a bitter taste, a little soapy and lemon. It has a crisp finish with a light wheat aftertaste. Tangy carbonation hits the tongue. The body is thin. Overall, not much taste but not bad.
