3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Old Devil’s Tooth is in Cans!! Yaaayyy!! This will be a monster of a nightcap when camping.
Pours hazy amber... nice off-white head... tons of pithy bitterness and toasty/caramel maltiness.. something that I think of as golden raisins.. big citrus hoppiness.. long lingering finish with a medium/heavy body and good carbonation.
Want a lot of these for the cellar... Will they keep as well as the bottles? I sure hope so.
This is a damn good PNW Barley Wine..

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a deep amber brown with a thick off white head. Aroma of malt, caramel, toffee and alcohol. Taste is malty with a big alcohol burn. Not as smooth as I’d like it.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Can. Pours a nice brown with caramel and booze on the nose. Taste is solid, not overly boozy or hot. Hoppy, sweet caramel but good. Nothing standout but certainly drinkable, especially considering the abv.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Can via trade. Pours goldenbrown with a short lived beige head. Smell is sweet malt, caramel and alcohol. Nice sweet malt and caramel flavor. Strong hop finish. Too bitter for my taste. Very full, creamy mouthfeel.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
355ml can via trade with Buckeyeboy.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Can courtesy of Lectvay, thank you sir! Dark amber pour with an off-white head. Aromas of booze, toffee, dates, brown sugar, and raisin. Flavor is sweet at first but finishes with a touch of hops and a slight alcohol bite. Respectable brew, not as well-balanced as I would have liked but still tasty.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Can from a trade extra...thanks Darrel! Pours a thick, medium brown with a hint of orange. Thick frothy head that lasted about 2 minutes. Sporadic lacing in the snifter. Aroma is a malt bomb with caramel, vanilla, booze, spice, and orange peel. The taste is powerful (especially as it warms it loosens up). Malt, caramel, vanilla, orange peel, dark bread, and booze. Extremely thick, oily beer. Almost a little too thick for my tastes. Malt bomb finishes boozy at the end. Heavier carbonation than the style usually finds. There was a kind of bitter hoppiness to it that was unique. Not bad.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Initial assault of malt, alcohol becomes more prevalant s it warms. Amber body with thin soapy head. Right in the wheelhouse for a barley wine

Big thanks to douglas88 for this one. I think this is my very first barleywine in a can experience, cool. The 12oz-er pours with an opaque amber body with copper hues and supporting a thin light tan head of foam. The modest aroma offers up musty sweet malts and sticky pine hop resin as well as faint booze. The taste delivers plenty of resiny pine hop bitterness supported nicely by sweet malts, a touch of molasses, sweet booze and some prune to raisin like sweet dark fruity esters. It later picks up a mild earthy hoppiness that joins in toward the finish creating addition depth, interest and harmony. Nice stuff indeed.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Can:   Darker amber, thin to moderate frothy sandy head, spotty lacing.   Malty aroma, some unsweetened biscuit, citrus peel, pith, dull caramel on the back.   Strong pithy/citrusy maltiness up front, quickly giving way to a slight astringency.   Starts out well enough, but becomes a little green like towards the back.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Finishes with soft caramel, citrus peel, pith, and thankfully enough maltiness to carry that bitterness.   Decent, not big, but even still feels a little green/youthfull.   Thanks to BuckeyeBoy for the can!
