3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft at the brewpub. Hazy, pale copperbrown with light brown head (quickly gone). Acidic, sweetish aroma. Has a distinct character, but I can’t really identify what it is. Flavour is also acidic and sweetish. Quite complex; fruity, malty, caramel, orange and yet another ingredient I can’t identify - maybe it’s the cloves that apparantly have been used (overheard a remark by the brewmaster), but in which case have changed character, as it doesn’t strike me as cloves. Nice bitterness. Very ’christmassy’. Slightly too much carbonacid. An interesting beer.

Loads of spices in this. Dominated by cinnamon and ginger, however notes of cloves and other spices are traceable. Coffee in the aftertaste.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
A hazy red beer with a huge brown head. The aroma is extremely spicy with a very powerful note of cinnamon, but also notes of ginger. The flavor is sweet and very spicy again cinnamon and ginger, this time the ginger is the most dominant, but it also has some notes of caramel, and a slight touch of roasted malt, leading to a slightly sticky end where the ginger gets a little sharp and mixed with a bit of an eathy or woody note. The alcohol lingers in the background, giving the warmth. I bit too spicy for my liking.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Got this for 20kr on sale after christmas which isn’t bad, so how is it? Pours dark brownred (looks like gløgg) with a small tan head. Aroma is very christmas dominated by clove and sweet berries and sweet candy, nice! Flavor is milder, but still with a taste of christmas. Clove again, cinnamon and malt. Dry finish. Not a bad beer and definately one of the better from this otherwise disappointing brewery.

Fynske Øldage 2005, Odense. Beautiful red mahogany color and a nice head. The nose is met by clove and tangerine and I find these notes in the flavour too together with sweetness, roasted malt, caramel and some dark fruits. It’s a nice Chrismas beer, but I would like it to have more body.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottled (from Estate Wine "upstairs cellar", BBE 07/2006). Rubyish brown colour with a small beigeish brown head. ARoma is quite spicy and yeasty along with some sweet and mildly roasted malts. Flavour is very similar along with some toffee and mild herbal notes. Not that much hoppyness left, but has developed into a quite nice thing over the years.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Dark brown with beige short lasting head. Aroma is quite spicy, cloves for sure, ginger cake, cinammon sticks and perhaps some almonds. Almost Glögg. Flavor starts spicy but quickly turns malty with a pleasent lingering bitter finale. I’m no huge fan of spiced beers so I like the way this gives a whiff of christmas without overdoing it.
