3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Foffern (744) - Bodø, NORWAY - MAY 21, 2012
On tap at Henriks. Pours a dark brown to black colour with a pretty small off-white head. Nice sweet and roasted malt aromas of both dark bitter chocolate and milk chocolate, with a touch chocolate truffles in the end. Some coffee is also present. The flavour is less sweet with more coffee and some salt licorice in the end, and maybe a hint of chili. Surprisingly medium bitterness, and a smooth but also a bit sparkly mouth feel. A decent dark ale which is also pretty easy.drinking. Nice aromas but too shallow in the flavour. Cannot say I found much of the special ingredient in this beer, and appears as an okay porter.
2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 Palme (2252) - Bergen, NORWAY - MAY 16, 2012
On tap @ Henrik. This is a deep dark ruby brown beer with a small sidesticking beige head. On the aroma I get some thin roasted malts, cold coffee, licorice and some dark caramel. It has a light oily texture and a soft carbonation level. Light roasted in the flavor with hints of licorice and leather and wet cardboard. Ends with a light yogurt-sourness. Subtle in both aroma and flavor - all the way and it never really got my full attention. Not a especially good beer either. 07.05.2012
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 ClubGonzo (2718) - Bergen, NORWAY - MAY 6, 2012
On tap @ Henrik, Bergen. Deep brown, near-black body, small off-white head. Nose is licorice, herbs, hints of cough syrup and tar. Taste is herbal licorice tones, soy and hints of cough medicine again. Some nutty flavors in the finish, with some more hard-to-define herbal notes. Smooth and nice, with a beckoning aftertaste. Medium to full body with a creamy mouthfeel. Both original, drinkable and tasty: this is one rather underrated beer from Søgaard.

Flaske: Mørkebrun let rødlig øl med et lille skumhoved. Duften er lety sur med en smule chokolade. Smagen er frugtet og igen let sur. Ikke min kop te, men svigerfar kunne lide den.

Dark reddish brown with a beige head. Aroma is sweet malty, roasted malt and a sort of smoky note (not like in a smoked beer but hard to describe). Flavor is rather sweet and moderate bitter. Dry and bitter finish. Boring. 110311
