COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: Brown Ale is a darker version of a spring beer. It is brewed with all our 5 available barley malts and strongly hopped. It is an attempt to get near "Humlet belgier" again, but probably slightly darker.

Bottle. (#15) Reddish brown pour, leaving a nice, beige head. Fruity and sweet, roasted aroma with caramel and some chocolate notes. Nice fruity and sweet flavor, quite hoppy, finishing with sweetness and a nice spicyness. Full to medium body. A lovely brown ale. I’m growing more and more fond of this brewery, it’s a pity they don’t have a wider distribution. (071013)

Bottle... Dark mahogany ale with a small, creamy, off-white head. Decent retention. Acrid aroma of charcoal and earthy, peppery hops weigh heavily upon a chocolate and crystal malt spine. Strange latex note. Nutty, cocoa flavor is moderately sweet with minerally, reserved bitterness. Light to medium-bodied and caustic with lively carbonation. Sweet, chocolaty and then dry finish. Much thanks to boboski for sharing this bottle of beer!

(Bottle, June 2007 vintage) Pours a mahogany body with a medium beige head. Aroma of toasted bread, lightly burnt caramel, hard water, and nuts. Flavor of toasted malt, minerals (Calcium & Magnesium), and caramel with a bitter finish.

Thin beige head, slow and steady recession. Dark mahogany body, hazy and loaded with slowly rising carbonation. the aroma has a very interesting Belgian and English cross-composition, with notes of floral hops, hard water(Burton salts), caramel malt, toasted grains of multiple varieties, molasses and old vegetation. Spice is also apparent, mild and sprinkled with nuttiness. No alcohol is noted. Quite strange but compelling anyhow. Hard, mineralic water and vegetation throw the flavor askew. Ample roast, mild bitterness, low-mild astringency, mild sweetness and good balance are all noted. Kudos for a really unique flavor profile, nothing like I’ve ever encountered. Finishes lightly roasty, balanced, but also quite vegetal, spice lingering. the mouthfeel has great carbonation and is balanced with a nice medium body devoid of any stickiness or watery pockets.

Mahogony color. Very little head. has an interesting roasted bitterness. Seems to be a hint of sesame seeds and spice. Flavor is a bit thin, but does have a slight bitterness. Good beer.

Bottle. [thank you, Myrup!]
Pours a clear dark brown - looks red up against the light. Head is initially quite fizzy, but settles as a creamy beige whipped cream topping. Aroma is flowery hoppy with a nuts-like background. A little spritzy. Powerful flavour. Roasted, chocolate, nuts. A little burned at the far end and a touch of yeasty off flavours. Very competent brew, I must say.

Bottled. A hazy amber beer with an orange head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel. The flavor is swet malty with primary notes of caramel, but also a light spicy edge - I pick up hint of coriander.
