Draft at Standard market. I had memories of the E-Ville Imperial Porter Tim made at Rock Bottom Yorktown. This is not that. This is a deep brown, served in a shaker glass, with a thin porter style head. Nice nose of warmly roasted malt. The taste is where the hops appear: Mostly piney, but in enjoyable proportions. Odd little thread of Coca-Cola at moments, part of its complexity. Citrus hop notes later on. But this seems to mostly plays up its malts, with some raisin over a bit of graininess. Lingering malty aftertaste.

Bottle. Deep mahogany hue lightening to burnt orange at the edges with one finger of khaki fuzz. Grainy aroma, with some walnuts, chlorophyll and spicy molasses. The flavor: molasses, grainy malt, burnt toast, soil. Light, watery body; mild fizziness. Too much huskiness in this one.

Shared with Zach and Brandon, pours a dark brown color with a nice head. Nose is malt, toffee and caramel. Taste is also malt, and caramel with some hoppy flavor. Finish ends on the same tasting notes with more of a hoppy than sweet ending. Fair brown. Quaff Score 7 / 10

Draft. Grainy, dense, imperial brown ale That IMO is a failed recipe. Don’t like it.

[Tap] Draft at the taproom. Very dark brown in color. Tan head. Milk chocolate, roasted malts and earthy hops in the aroma. Dark breads, anise, chocolate, astringent grain husks and piney hops in the taste. Good looking lacing. Lingering dry and bitter finish. Not bad.
