3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sampled at the brewery and at home from a 64 oz. growler. Bright, orangish red pour with a thin, white head. Aroma of bready and cracker malt, with a strong hop presence featuring mostly pine and citrus. Some resinous and herbal notes are present as well. Flavor is hop-centric, bitter, as you want to see in a nice IPA. Fresh, resiny hops with strong tropical fruit and citrus undertones. Medium bitterness. Notes of bread dough, pale malt, some bread dough and mild earth. Medium bodied, lively carbonation. FInishes on a bitter note.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap @ the Rev production brewery grand opening. Pours a near clear orange with and amber hue and a tan head that lasts throughout the beer and laces thickly. Aroma has a good amount of pine and grass with a hint of grapefruit and a sweet grain backbone. Flavor has a combination of grass and grapefruit with an earthy grain backing.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: JUN 3, 2012 The cask offering of the evening at the Bavarian Lodge in Lisle, IL. for the CCBW/Solemn Oath arrival party. Displayed a hazed, orangy amber hue, with a modest but lasting layer of off white, bubbly head foam, and light, spotty lacing. The nose was fair malt, citrus, resin, and some cattiness. The flavor added healthy hop bitterness and dryness, but the body seemed less than medium, and the texture was fairly thin due to the nature of the cask condition, and an even less than soft carbonation. Finally arrived at my table cool at best, but noticed good potential, and expect to re-review just a little colder, and on CO2.
Stopped at the brewery in Naperville, IL. to view the new facility and re-review. A little hard to find industrial space, but not disappointed with both ventures. On tap, and dispensed to a pint glass with better cling to the web-like strands of lacing, a more expressive nose, better carbonation & temperature presentation, and basically more maturity & balance to this IPA than my first encounter. +.3
