This is certainly a delicious and impressive IPA, but the mediocre score I’m giving it is rooted in it’s strange aroma. My partner and I couldn’t quite put our finger on the scent, which isn’t necessarily a telling signal, but also not something great, either. The flavor was the best, with some subtle pine notes and a nice sweet texture. Would drink again.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Whirlyball in Vernon Hills to celebrate my other brother’s 40th. Pours orangey-brown with a bit of an off-white head leaving nice lacing. Aroma has fresh fruit, citrus and some resin. Taste is of bitter citrus, resin, somewhat sticky with some sweet caramel. Well balanced. Finishes nicely bittersweet and long. Very nice IPA; everything I am looking for when I go to a place and order one.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a nice amber with a light resin and citrus note. Full deep citrus flavors with laten notes of pine hat drive to a mildly bitter finish.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft. Pouts deep gold orange with a small white head. Aroma is nicely Citric, fresh fruity notes and a touch of pine and herbal. Flavor starts sweet and Citric some caramel malt coming in that adds a touch too much breadiness for me but finishes clean and not too bitter. Medium body and a crisp carbonation. Very session able easy ipa

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft at the Rev Grand Opening. Pours an orangey gold with a big white head. Nose is a bit odd. Lots of citrus and pine, but also an odd savory note that carries into the flavor. Dried out malts, a bit thin as well and a touch boozy feeling. On tasint, the savory, almost meaty note comes back, along with some woody hops. Kind of lacking that juicy fruity note that the great IPAs tend to have. Odd, this one. Will try this again.

4.1 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draft at Jerry’s. Muddy orange-amber with good, creamy, off-white head / Brilliant, weedy nose of citrus, caramel, and fresh cut pine / Medium body, some sweetness, just a touch watery, but with good balance and bitter finish / Flavors of orange, grapefruit, passion fruit, cut pine, caramel, and bubblegum / Body issues detract from the strong flavor profile, but still a fine beer and effort from this new brewer.
