4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bomber from Antioch cellared for a couple of months. Black pour with a tan, "root beer float" head leaving a ton of circular lace. Aroma has chocolate, some black malts, pine, light citrus and some roast. Taste is of sweet caramelly malts, some roast, some citrus, cocoa and a light bitter black patent malt presence. Black IPA-ish, in the mouth, to the positive. Finishes more bitter than sweet on that bitter-sweet scale, but roasty leads, and that is good too. Wow! Surprised. Likely in line with SOath’s best stuff. (2 parts Grumpess plus 1 part Kidnapped = this???) 15.3

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
22 oz bottle from trader Joe’s. Giant tan head which stays four a long time. Smells really good, hoppy with caramel and molasses. Not too much going on from a flavor perspective, it is understated. Some hop kick. Good, would drink again.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Aroma is yeast, candy/sugar and a hint of dark malts. The flavor is dark malts, chocolate, candy/sugar and fruit/citrus/acidity in the finish. Noticeable hops in a milk stout is interesting but not something I’ll have again, it just doesn’t work well in the style.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottled: This stout is hopped forward with piney and citric overtones along with moderate roast and mocha. Some lacto notes but much more reserved that the last beer, likely caused by the abundance of bitterness. I like but it is damn close to being a Black IPA plus some "pickle" notes start to show as it warms.

4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
A perfect american milk stout. Just the right balance of coffee, milk, and bitterness. Smells like coffee and pours black with a sticky tan head. Really crisp and crushable. Love this one

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle, shared at game night. Dark brown with a light brown head. Lovely dark malts, semi-sweet chocolate and coffee, with a surprising dose of citrus and grassy hops in the finish. A nice hoppy sweet stout.

[Tap] Tasting notes from 12/2013. Pours a deep brown color with a thin brown head. Mild cocoa and vanilla in the nose. Sweet taste of lactose and chocolate blends with piney hops. Soft carbonation. Good stuff.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
A deep dark stout with a thin mocha head. In aroma, nice coffee chocolate malt with espresso overtones, grassy resinous hops, very nice. In mouth, a nice sweet chocolate malt with caramel and coffee, resinous hops, well balanced, excellent. On tap at Timothy O’toole’s.
