Our full-bodied stout with milk sugar. The piney and orange citrus hops find themselves paired with roasted, coffee, and dark chocolate balance. Werd.

Sampler at Standard Market. Okay, my review gives this beer a ranking: Black in the rounded sampler glass, a thin yet bubbly ring of foam. Dark chocolate milk nose. Taste has a nice sweetness and noticeable alcohol like a cordial. Also chocolate again, and threads of vanilla. The usual bitter stout malt in the background.

[Tap] Tasting notes from 12/2013. Pours a deep brown color with a thin brown head. Mild cocoa and vanilla in the nose. Sweet taste of lactose and chocolate blends with piney hops. Soft carbonation. Good stuff.

A deep dark stout with a thin mocha head. In aroma, nice coffee chocolate malt with espresso overtones, grassy resinous hops, very nice. In mouth, a nice sweet chocolate malt with caramel and coffee, resinous hops, well balanced, excellent. On tap at Timothy O’toole’s.

Enjoyed on tap at Emporium Arcade Bar in Chicago, IL. Appearance is pitch black with a rich off white head. Aroma of piney hops, chocolate, lactose, sweetness. Taste is like a sweet black IPA, roasted chocolate notes with a pine / citrus hop profile and a touch of coffee and lactose. Pretty good stuff, definitely a sipper, but good.

Sweet milky aroma. Draft pour at sheffields. Tons of sticky head around glass that doesn't go away. Very milky and sweet stout - no other way to describe it. Bitter finish. Nutty back. Really enjoyable.

Draft at Jerry’s. Black with good, creamy, brown head, light lacing / Nose of pine, citrus, roast grain, chocolate / Medium body, hoppy with lots of bitterness, decent fruit, touch of sweetness, very nice balance / Flavors of orange peel, semisweet chocolate, pine, bubblegum, grapefruit / Great flavors, more along the lines of big, black ipa.

Pint at SOB, Naperville. Nice malt chocolate, a touch of coffee/vanilla with a hint of hop. Pours dark with a thin tan foam. Flavors of chocolate, vanilla, raisin, a touch of coffee with a nice hop bitterness to keep the sweet in check. I really enjoyed it and I would buy this beer again.

UPDATED: OCT 17, 2014 Draft, pours dark brown with small white head. Aroma has a nice hoppy green and piney notes mixing well with raisins and milk chocolate. Flavors of piney hops, orange, dark and milk chocolate, with some plums that finish. Thin body. This comes off more brown ipa to me but it’s good. 3.5 This American stout is really nice. The hopping on it is great. The lactose is annoying and needs a bigger body with more roast and it’d be perfect. As it is now it almost leans black ipa. Either way the hoppin on it is great.

64 oz growler from the brewery. Near black pour with a small tan head, lots of lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate, some piney hops. I get some mild smoke a campfire. Flavor is very hoppy and bitter for a sweet stout. Strong hop presence along with the strong dark chocolate presence from the malts is quite bitter, but nice. Mild brownie and cookie dough notes. Full bodied, nice carbonation. Finishes on a chocolate-orange note.

Jet black color. No head. Chocolate and dark roasted malt on the nose. Light body. Chocolate coffee and slight malt flavor. Clean bitter finish.
