Pint poured Hopleaf. Pours a hazy orange straw with a small white head and good lacing. Stars with a citrusy hop aroma, but quickly shifts to a roasted malt finish. Smooth flavor that retains both its malt profile and hoppy finish. Pretty good.

Draft at Firkin. Poured a slightly hazy medium orange color. The head was thin and off white with an orange tint. Mixed malt and hop aromas that included the likes of caramel, orange, mixed tropical fruit, and a bit of pine. Medium bodied and somewhat sweet with mild to moderate bitterness.

- on tap @ Farmhouse in Chicago. Every now and then a beer comes along that takes me by surprise and makes me happy. This is such a beer. Very new to the craft beer scene, I hadnít even heard of them when I found this on tap at Farmhouse, and even the bartender couldnít offer much info. Bright hazy orange, low creamy orange-tinted head. Luscious aroma of fresh tropical fruit (mango, guava, lychee, ruby grapefruit) with a touch of pine. Palate is juicy and literally bursting with fruity hop character. The malts are in perfect balance here, adding structure without stealing anything from the hops. Finish is long and very bitter. A refreshing, balanced, and highly drinkable hop bomb. Wow-- I cannot wait to try other offerings from these guys!

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
growler once again courtesy of tom. thanks man... pours a hazy caramely muddled hue (pour from bottle of the growler) and topped with a thin wispy quickly dissipating head... aroma of uicy citrus, tangerines, pine in addition to a caramel malt backbone. fruit forward hop profile takes precedence first... flavors are more of the same with a tropical and citrus fruit focus. a little bit of chalkiness coming through late with caramel malts balancing well with the aforementioned hops. moderate degree of bitterness on the backend elgongated through the finish. body more akin to an ipa as opposed to a dipa - not too heavy with crisp active carbonation. pretty solid.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Draft on tap at the brewery (Naperville, IL). Pours a rich deep copper orange hue, healthy darkness shows some light brown, glowing deep carmelized edges with a cakey offwhite beige head atop. Healthy film, laces well and sticks around pretty nicely. Aromas are bitter dense citrusy hops, florals and grapefruit, grass and gentle pine. Richer citrusy hops grow and feel firmly bitter. Some toastiness, biscuits, carmelized malts. Lots of lemon and grapefruit, resin, and good dryness overall. Touches of florals, dough, and gentle sweetness. Good dose of hops. Initial is richly bitter, a bit puckering, with rolling bitter florals and bit grapefruit fruit and rind, rind oils, dryness really grows well. Melon, some peach, shock tarts. Middle offers some good dryness, puckering tart citrus, dry rich hop flavors, oils, and fruit, tons of oranges. Backend remains bitter, citrus driven with some dry bread, that telltale fresh orange juice and grapefruit make their presence felt. Finish is dry and lingering lush citrusy hops, sweetness of the malt base stays at bay but gives it a touch of body to hold up to the rich hop assault. Fresh and lively, dense citrusy hops, everyone should try this now.. Not in two weeks.. Now. Really nice. Nose has some moments, but flavors and palate score really are where it scores for me.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Draught from the brewery. Pours a cold hazed orange amber with a thin off-white head. Aroma is rich sweet citrus fruit, evocative of american hops. Big full flavor with an orange and grapefruit sweetness that finishes potently bitter. Gentle carbonation and dry finish round this out nicely.
