Rich caramel malt sweetness is beaten over the head with bright, fresh American hop flavors of grapefruit citrus, pine and tropical fruit in our Double IPA. This beer is the bigger, more successful brother of Kidnapped by Vikings.

- on tap @ Farmhouse in Chicago. Every now and then a beer comes along that takes me by surprise and makes me happy. This is such a beer. Very new to the craft beer scene, I hadnít even heard of them when I found this on tap at Farmhouse, and even the bartender couldnít offer much info. Bright hazy orange, low creamy orange-tinted head. Luscious aroma of fresh tropical fruit (mango, guava, lychee, ruby grapefruit) with a touch of pine. Palate is juicy and literally bursting with fruity hop character. The malts are in perfect balance here, adding structure without stealing anything from the hops. Finish is long and very bitter. A refreshing, balanced, and highly drinkable hop bomb. Wow-- I cannot wait to try other offerings from these guys!

22 oz bomber into a shaker. Very dark copper color, huge, quickly fading off-white head. Aroma is citrus and pine. Taste is very fruity, bitterness is kept to a minimum. This is a medium bodied, creamy brew, softly carbonated, and goes down very smoothly. This is the first packaged beer Iíve had from Solemn Oath after visiting their tap room. I liked this very much and will put it on my "have another" list.

22oz Bomber. Smooth for an IPA, very slight bitterness but nothing substantial. Smooth flavor. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bomber served in a tulip glass. I know the abv is listed at 7.7 but my bottle says 8.0. Interesting, maybe it changed. Anyway, on to it. The beer pours a fairly clear burnt amber orange with a thin white head that leaves little lacing. Aroma is dank pine, caramel, bread, and some tropical fruits. Taste is pine resin right up front. There are also citrus and tropical fruit flavors, as well as caramel. It lingers on your palate a bit and the alcohol is well hidden. Not a bad beer, just kind of underwhelming.

650 ml bottle, purchased at Binnyís Lincoln Park. Mostly clear Amber color with fizzy head. Aroma is light citrus, with abundant amount of pine needles and resin

Flavor is light mango and peach upfront, caramel sweetness through the center with a big strong lingering pine in the finish. Brewers decrepit io in the label is exactly what is delivered here.

Tap at Bavarian Lodge. Clear very rich reddish orange pour with a soapy head. Good looking beer. Syrupy resin aroma with a hint of citrus. Slightly bitter on the finish. Good.

Bottle thanks to Sarah! Pours a near clear amber with a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a bit of pine and resin with a good amount of sweet grains and a hint of caramel. Flavor is similar with resin up front and sweet grains backing as well as a touch of light fruit.

Red-orange, two-finger head. Smell is tropical fruit, candied apple, pine. Strong biscuity flavor thatís quickly overtaken by tangy citrus and pine resin. Dry, bitter finish. Very drinkable.
