COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: Somersby Cider is a refreshing, sparkling and natural cider with 15% apple juice and 4.7% alcohol. Best enjoyed on ice. Ingredients: Apple wine, sugar, concentrated apple juice, carbonation, flavours, citric acid, natural aroma and 3 different E-numbers.

Editor’s note: Available in Denmark through Carlsberg, and in Norway through Ringnes.

Pale yellow with no head. Aroma of applejuice and loads of suger. It ok refreshing, but the sweetness is definetly over the top for me, and when the acidity is lacking completly it kinda feels like sparkling applejuice rather than cider.

Can @ home.
Clear light to medium yellow color with a small, virtually none appearance, virtually none lacing, fully diminishing head. Aroma is moderate apple, apple rubbish. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration. (Syntetich apple sweet). Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. (110508)

Can. It pours a very sparkling clear, pale yellow body, with the carbonation almost stopping after a few seconds. No sign of a head. Apples, a touch of yeast, loads of sugar and with a general artificial impression. Quite thin in the mouth, effervescent, and sticky sugary, leaving a thin layer of coating on your teeth. Apples, some yeast, white sugar and a little citric note in the flavor. Apples and sugar in the finish. Even though it’s this sweet and sticky, it still has some palate-cleansing qualities, guess that’s the apple-wine, but I’ll have a real cider instead of this one anytime. Didn’t finish the can. Maybe I rated it too high, but who cares. (080624)

Bottle. Light golden colour and no head. Aroma and taste of sweet synthetic apple juice. Too sweet and artificial. Unreal history thanks to commercials. Tastes a bit like the favorite danish ’crazy daisy’ youngster drink, Cult Shaker or the Carlsberg lookalike: Burn, just without alcohol.

Can. Very light golden colour with no head. Very aromatic with notes of apple juice. Sweet apple flavour with high carbonation yet refreshing, but overall a very dull and artificial beverage.

Can. Thanks to Papsoe for this refreshing gift. Nice - but somewhat weak, aroma of apples. Adequate sparkles and very nice light golden colour. Tastes nice.
