COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

330 ml can. E23482. BB 13/09/2013. 4.5%.
Produced by Sinebrychoff, Kerava, Finland. (Prisma) Kuopio, Finland.

Clear pale yellowish watery colour with tiny white head. The aroma is sugar and pear. Very sweet. The flavour is a tad crispier. Sugary sweetness, sweetener, pear and some alcohol in the flavour. No good.

Bottled from Systembolaget Very pale yellow with no head. Sweet and artificial in both aroma and flavour spiced up with alcoholic notes. Tastes pretty much like Päronsplit...

Labelled as having ’original fruity flavour’ I was obviously on to a winner with this one. Honestly had to turn a blind eye to the sad product description on the side though! Engrish!?? Anyways...Loud pour and over-the-top in carbonation. Translucent, palest yellow and little else. Candyish, watermelon, strawberry and red grape nose. Similar watermelon and strawberry burst on the palate; artificial, sweet and, aside the alcohol, almost only suitable as a kid’s drink oft purchased by poultry parents. A bar manager I know sold out of this on draught within the first day and I can see why! Let’s do the nasty and break it down shall we as I don’t get it either!!?.... Rubber, tannins, low acidity and a hit of plasticine. Filmy mouthfeel, a light body and clammy length. Burp..., excuse me! Rather soapy when it starts to warm. Watery flavourwise but you are forever weary of that berry, grape, water melon shizzle. ’Pear’ cider! ?? (33cL can, BB 05/06.13, Thirsty Camel, Butler)

Can. Sweet, artificial pear aroma and flavour. Could barely detect the alcohol. Nice refreshing drink but far from a nice pear cider.

Pours carbonated with a clear and slight yellow body, minimal head that disappears faster than you can say "ewww". Aroma is sugar and more sugar with a faint hint of fake pear in there. Flavour is fake pear with a huge sugar hit and a faint metallic finish. Some kind of aspartame-ish quality lingers on the tongue. By any measure, this is a poor perry or pear cider.
