2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Cask at the Lyric. It pours clear Amber with a small white head. The nose is bitter-sweet, toffee, cinnamon bun, brown bread and light citrus. The taste is bitter-sweet, woody, toffee, peppery grapefruit, lemon peel, biscuit and resin with a lingering bitter finish. Medium body and low carbonation. Underwhelming malt-driven affair. Hoppy bitter at best.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cask conditioned at Far From the Madding Crowd, Oxford. Gold with white head. There is an initial caramelised toffee, caramel flavour, boiled malts, then a simple, fruity but indistinct hops note. It’s reasonable without getting over exciting really.

UPDATED: JUN 13, 2014 Cask by hand-pump at Guildford Arms, Edinburgh (8 May 2014) - clear amber, thin creamy white head, spicy hop aroma, poor lacing, bit of fruit, some grapefruit, bit of spice, very easy to drink
Also bottle (not bottle conditioned) from Sonnet 43 Brewery (13 Jun 2014) - not quite as good as the cask version, but a nice drink
