Cask-conditioned at the Seven Stars, Bristol 3/3/2014. Deep amber with a slight, off-white head. Fruity beer, with some marmalade, caramel, cereal mlats and a decent, bitter finish. Fine.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Amber with a little reddish accent. Fruity, some anglotartness, not sure itís coming together...the malt is understated and maybe more overt hop fruitiness would sort this out a bit.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Kingís Arms, Norwich. Golden with a thin white head. Fresh green hops and mild grains. Gentle, floral bitter finish. Smooth with a soft carbonation. Nice fresh, easy drinking IPA. Not sure why itís labelled as a bitter on here.

Bottle. Rich gold pour with a thin white head. Nose is mildly hoppy with fresh cirtus fruits and some cereal malts. A nice bitter taste with lots of hoppiness - lemons, grapefruits, limes and oranges. Thereís some strong malts in here to balance and the finish is bitter and looooong... cracking!

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Aroma: Green hop aroma and musty pale malt.
Appearance: Muddy amber body with a thin white head that holds well. No visible carbonation. Nice lacing.
Taste: Sharp lime, grass and earth. Smooth but not particularly interesting.
Palate: Medium body with an oily texture. Flat carbonation.
Overall: A decent beer, though Iím not quite sure what style it is - itís listed here as a Bitter, it calls itself an IPA (despite being just 4.4% ABV) but tastes like a Pale Ale. Not too dissimilar to Caledonianís Deuchars IPA (which really isnít an IPA either).

Bottle from Rehills, Newcastle. An amber ale with toffee and citrus fruity flavours followed by a bitter woody hop finish.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pint at spoons Washington. Hazy amber thin white head. Sour farmyard aroma, not unpleasant though. The usual citrus and resin flavour, with a bit of caramel. Medium bodied, slick, bitter finish. Not bad, but this type of IPA is becoming very familiar, and thereís not much to distinguish this one.

Cask at Voodoo Cafe Bar in Darlington. Clear orange amber colour, creamy fine white head leaving lots of lacing and malty hoppy aroma. Smooth deep bitterness with caramel, resiny citrus hop, and earthy, sourish notes. Medium bodied, gives a lingering back of the throat bitter finish. Nice satisfying IPA.
