Cordillera Blanca (kawr-dl-yair-uh) or White Mountains, loosely translated to English, is the newest additions to the Sonoran Brewing line of products. This White Chocolate Ale is light, refreshing, and completely unique! Like most fine chocolates, this brew has delicate aroma and the subtle taste of White Chocolate that is truly astonishing!

Served from a bottle that a nice person drop off for Mike at the OTM Tasting bar. The appearance is a creamy looking frosted yellow with s fluffy white head. The aromas quickly show the white chocolate from the mane, loads of it with an almost bready backing. The flavors follow with a rich white chocolate, a touch of bread. The white chocolate comes through nice in the beer, very creamy and smooth. A nice little treat. I think the base beer would of been better suited taste wise with a darker beer but that might over power the lightness of white chocolate. A nice treat, thanks Mike.

A: Pours a nice pale yellow hue tall fizzy head. Little retention and lace. S: White chocolate for sure. Real not extract either. Light wheat notes round things out. T: White chocolate extract, light vanilla, wheaty grain, and citrus, and a hint of tartness. M: Light fizzy hefe like. D: It’s kind of all over the place. I like the vanilla, wheat, and extract. The citrus takes it into left field.

Poured straw yellow with giant white head. Nose is littered with cocoa. Taste is bizarre, not bad, but weird, body is just too thin for what tastes like silky white chocolate. Had this been a stout it might have been really good.

22 oz bottle: slightly hazy orange, straw…thing, ivory cream around the edges of the glass…Dusty, chocolate aroma with hints of raspberries, honey and pale malts. Palate is smooth and a touch creamy with a lingering stale and vegetal bitterness. Soft texture on the tongue…the flavors are incredibly unique: white chocolate, doughy yeast, bitter anise, and vegetables. A fun experience, though I probably wouldn’t get a second one.

Bottle to pint glass White chocolate, orange, malt, corn(?). Hazy amber, but that’s after the head settled. Initially this was all head. Truthfully, it was completely head when poured. Taste is orange, and something akin to nutmeg, but not as strong and then a touch of chocolate.

Sampled @ Backus’s Backdoor Bash courtesy of BeerLando.Ok first off this was a way cool cobalt blue , 1 liter, flip top bottle.I know it said whie chocolate but I was expecting the pour to be closer to a chocolate color, but it wasn’t.It poured a cloudy golden color with a soapy white head. The nose was funky with a slight detection of chocolate, citrus, and nuts.It definately was a unique beer.Flavor was funky with hints of chocolate and malts. The finish was tart.Definately an unusual beer.

Wow, how can the aroma be anything but a 10? White chocolate, burnt sugar, and vanilla eminate. Golden color with milky white foam that leaves nice lacing. Taste matches the aroma with residual sweetness and a touch of caramel. Some hop bitterness shows up, but long after the beer is gone. Funny thing is, despite it being very close to white chocolate in both taste and aroma, I don’t think I would buy again. Just a curiosity.

Pours a light yellow color with a distinct malt white chocolate malt aroma. Taste is similar, white chocolate malt flavor with a slight carbonated aftertaste. A little thin beer, but different.

Cloudy gold with a decent white head. Aroma and flavor of bitter fruits and citrus and a bit watery. not a bad beer but I expected alot more and whoever says they taste white chocolate is nuts. I’ll keep the bottle though...almost the best part of the package.

Strange brew. On tap at Boulders. Pours a hazy golden color with a trim white head. Smells and tastes of white chocolate, vanilla yogurt, and pear. More of a novelty than a balanced beer, but certainly worth a try.
