COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cordillera Blanca (kawr-dl-yair-uh) or White Mountains, loosely translated to English, is the newest additions to the Sonoran Brewing line of products. This White Chocolate Ale is light, refreshing, and completely unique! Like most fine chocolates, this brew has delicate aroma and the subtle taste of White Chocolate that is truly astonishing!

Bottle thanks to somebody, rating from my backlog. The smell is white chocolate, weird, butter, sweet, and cocoa. The look is golden in color, thin white head, and clear. The taste is sweet, chocolate, weird, vanilla, and cream.

A hazed blonde ale with a thin white head. In aroma, sweet fruity chocolate malt with light vanilla notes, not bad. In mouth, a smooth fruity chocolate malt with light vanilla, oily mouth feel, OK.

On tap: The aroma consists of moderate-heavy cocoa powder and light vanilla...maybe a touch of grass. It?s a transparent dull gold with a small white head that eventually fades to a thin film outlined by a slightly thicker ring. There is some spotty lacing left on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with a quick dose of wheat. The finish has light-moderate sweet cocoa powder and vanilla. It?s light bodied with mild carbonation. Overall, it?s probably a good thing I got a 4oz sample. I like chocolate, but straight cocoa powder generally wears on me quickly.

Draft @ the AZ Strong Beer Fest - Pours a hazy straw color with a thin creamy white head. Aroma is faint malt and very faint chocolate. Flavor is about the same. Light to medium body. I was hoping for a little more in all the areas. Glad I got to try it.

Arrives from the tap with a lightly hazy, light gold color and is topped by a thin pale head. The nose mostly has beer-like notes to it with a light, sweet, white-chocolate note to it that provides more a perceived sweetness in the aroma than anything.

The taste is much like a clean, simple blond beer with white chocolate added. Very light hop character and a light malt character make this simplistic and quaffable. It has quite a light mouthfeel, though I wouldn’t say it was watery. The white-chocolate adds a sort of perfume-like note as well as a touch of vanilla notes. Not bad, but not really my cup of tea, this might have been really interesting if the base beer was more interesting (I am imagining a thick, white chocolate infused stout).

Thanks to the trader who got me this one...forgetting who it was and I apologize for that. Pours out a hazy straw color with a small to medium white head. Aroma is of some white chocolate, yeast and some strange tartness. Taste is very interesting, chocolate/sour...very strange, citrus and some yeasty vinous notes. I give it an A for creativity, but it was strange.

hazy gold with a white head. Aroma is sour citrus and chocolate. Flavor is skunky, more citrus, a touch of chocolate, and a bit of pickle brine. Mehhhhh

courtesy of tpd975 How does white chocolate mix with beer? Interesting concept, which I think Sonoran’s version of Southern Tier Creme Brulee. Unfortunately this attempt falls a little short. pours golden, white head. aroma, definitely has some white chocolate in there although sparse and really makes the highlight of this beer. flavors, weak chocolate palate, some lactic notes coupled with a citrus hops mouthfeel that takes away a lot of the chocolate aspect of the beer, turning everything in an overly citrusy melange. Enjoyed the chocolate aspect, but over done on the hop side especially when this beer only boast a mere 4.7%

(22 oz bottle). Pours hazy yellow with white head. Aroma is of chocolate!. Taste is sweet with some hopiness. Finish is bitter with some yeastiness. Interesting brew, but I can only drink a few sips. Chocolate flavor is well done and intense.

Pale yellow cloudy pour. The nose is lightly tart with a soft bit of pale malt sweetness through the middle. Softly sweet up front with an almost wheaty tartness. Oddly, the white chocolate aroma really does come out. Strange but not awful.
