Cordillera Blanca (kawr-dl-yair-uh) or White Mountains, loosely translated to English, is the newest additions to the Sonoran Brewing line of products. This White Chocolate Ale is light, refreshing, and completely unique! Like most fine chocolates, this brew has delicate aroma and the subtle taste of White Chocolate that is truly astonishing!

Bottle courtesy of the Merrit Island tasting hosted by mcbackus. The bottle was gorgeous by the way. If you are into that kinda thing! Flavor was sweet tarts, sour apples, and lemons. I was very hard pressed to find ANY chocolate here. Not a fan of the sour type beers, however, this would be a good intro.

Thanks Dakine! Pale cloudy yellow with a huge white head. Aroma is a "chemical" white chocolate. Taste is wheat beer with a medicine flavoring. dry. Nice lacing.

Base: slight haze on gold.
Palate : medium bodied , fairly drinkable with medium finish. Tad thinner on sides. Light carbonation.
Taste: leafy , nutty woody bit pungent. Different.

On tap and CB&CB. Pours golden hazy golden with eggshell white head. Smell like white chocolate macadamia nut cookie with sweet malts, and butter. Taste is sweet white chocolate and vanilla. Medium body and thin finish. This is a dessert beer. Okay but very different.

Location: Draft at O.H.S.O., 3/8/14, as White Chocolate

Aroma: The nose is sweet and malty, white chocolate is very present here
Appearance: It pours a cloudy golden color with a pretty decent sized white head on it
Flavor: The taste is sweet and chocolaty, without enough balance to it
Palate: The body is light-medium, it has a soft carbonation, and a smooth, creamy finish
Overall Impression: I thought this was a nice beer, but it was too sweet for me. Well-made though. No complaints, Iím just not the target market.

draft, this is weird. Chocolate flavors in a pale ale that was light. Interesting for sure.

Different for sure, I think stone is doing something like this, golden pour chocolate aroma, may be I havenít got the connection. Couldnít drink more than 8 oz...may be for someone else who has a more in tuned palate for this style.

Bottle. Wow. This would throw a lot of people for a loop in a blind taster. Golden and hazy, with the visuals of a witbier, the chocolate syrup flavor profile comes off completely unexpectedly if it werenít for the name and deScription. Tastes like a símore. (#6044, 10/10/2015)
