22oz bottle, new label, thanks to a great trader. pours a silky, thick black capped by a massive (strangely large, actually), rocky head of dark khaki foam that quickly dissipates into tight rings of lace. aroma is great with rich, heavy roasted malts, black licorice, ash, and toasted marshmallows backed by subtle notes of tar, vinyl, and baker’s chocolate. flavor is delicious as well with rich, roasted malts, dark chocolate, raisins, and prunes backed by licorice candy, toffee, berry skins, and just a hint of peat smoke. palate is full bodied and creamy owing to the dense carbonation and finishes with a heavy handed dose of roasted black malts. overall, a deliciously intense imperial stout.

Silver and black label, as Sonoran Imperial Stout I#ebr@tor
Jet black colour, firm tan head. Aroma of liquorice, light sour touch, smoke, roasted malts, milk chocolate, quite sweet. Flavour of bitter roasted malts, coffee bitter, quite sweet. Sticky sweet body. Finish bitter roasted malts, dark and milk chocolate, sweetness lingers for a long time.
Very nice, but for me the sticky sweetness of the finish is a bit too much.

Draft @ Mellow Mushroom. Pours a midnight black w/ a small, tan head. Big aromas & flavors of chocolate, roasted malts, some hop bitterness & toffee. Creamy mouthfeel. One of the best beers brewed in AZ!

jet black color small brown head that faded fast to leave a slight lace.Very nice malty aroma with coff tones and maybe some dark chocolate, and just a faint hint of fruit.Nice smooth feel with a flavor of roasted malt coffee and dark chocolate.Decent hop presence, and the alcohol manages to stay fairly well hidden with the exception of a hint from time to time to let you know this will have a punch later.Very nice brew that makes me wish i worked some more of this into the trade. Thanks go to Bigbastard for sending this fine brew my way.

An excellent name tags this gorgeous beer! Probably one of the darkest heads I have seen....beyond beige....straight up brown! This beer had an excellent creamy mouthfeel, alcohol, sweet mocha, and hops were all in the flavor. The finish was good, but I was hoping for it to linger longer. A great beer though!

2003: Rich oily black with a thin tan head. Rich roatsed malt aroma with some peat and dark fruits. Body is smooth and rich with some dry caramel and choclate maltiness. Hints of sourness toward the finish. Dry roasted moderately bitter finish. Could be a little more extreme, but still a very nice imperial stout.

I let this one age for a year. I didn’t know it was an imperial stout when I poured it (I thought it was just a strong stout), so I was pleasantly surprised to see the oily dense, pitch black liquid with its dark head. NIce palate, accordingly, oily but not too syrupy and sweet, but in control. The flavors were coffee and chocolate with some layers of vanilla and hazelnut, it seemed. There was a little alcohol in the aroma, but not too much. I had a few doubts at the end but there was still much to like here (my wife liked it, too).

This bad dog pours a jet black - like the motor oil that's been in your car for 5 years. Hold it up to a light and it's Maximilian, driving the U.S.S. Cygnus into the black hole where nothing escapes. Very smooth flavor for an imperial stout. A lot of roasted nuggets, some teeth-sucking coffee, a pinch of chocolate p-poppin and some smooth cherry roasting over an open fire.

Opaque black color, dark brown head. Smokey aroma with a hint of sweet malt. Nice, rich flavors of smokey coffee, chocolate and malty sweetness.
