Ungstrup (11570), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jul 28, 2008 Bottled - tasted blind An amber veer with a thin lazing beige head. The aroma is sweet malty with primary notes of caramel, but also an acidic edge. The flavor old with notes of over ripe fruit and oxidation, and the mouthfeel is sticky. Papsoe (11030), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jul 31, 2008 (Bottle 100 cl) Courtesy of FlacoAlto. Pours a very cloudy orangey brown with a small, off-white head. Vinous port aroma with a light tartness. Quite full-bodied with sweet caramel and overripe fruit. Low carbonation though and a very subdued bitterness. 260708 yespr (7166), Copenhagen O, Denmark Jul 27, 2008 From bottle #29 at sk8vikings American blind tasting. Pours hazy orange to amber with lacing off-white head. Spiced and dry woody aroma. Flavour is dry malty towards dense fruity and malty. Lingering malty and fruity into the finish. Light acidic and bitter finish. Smooth yet powerful. kp (6300), Woodstock, Georgia, USA May 11, 2008 Updated: May 23, 2008Date: 05/10/2008
argo0 (6263), Washington DC, USA Feb 24, 2003 (bottle) Clear red copper with minimal head. Aroma is sweet, barley wine-style malty/hoppy, fruity (berry?), slight alcohol. Taste is medium sweet, some floral hoppiness, fruity, very smooth. Hides it's alcohol very well. Very nice English-style barley wine.
