oily auburn color with a fizzy little head and no lacing. The aroma was very malty with a sweet caramel & hop presence. The flavor was well rounded and rich, a good night cap. The alcohol wasn't very apparent and it finishes a tad on the bitter side for me.

Lt red color, small nearly no head. Very malty nearly syrupy, caramelized malt flavor. Sweet yet hopped to balance sweetness. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is very smooth. Aftertaste is sweet yet subdued. Very complex flavor is this beer. Nice barley wine. Need to hide some away for a year or so.

CPLYFO 09. Pours a hazy deep amber almost brown wit a thinning head. Aroma is initially diacetyl- butter all the way through into the flavor- but also some sherry oxidation and a cherry and raisin-like fruitiness. Salty malt flavor, more ox and lots of butter- slick and lifeless aftertaste. Meh.

This copper ale poured with a thin tan head and a fruity aroma. The flavor is candy sugar, raisin and caramel malt, with a warm alcohol finish. A very nice barleywine.

(22oz bomber, thanks to blutt59) Pours a medium dark orange. Smell is hops, caramel, alcohol and sour. Taste is of rainier cherries, gets more sour as it warms. The palette is off on this one but i still like it. Probably infected.

Bottle:   1999 vintage from brewandbbq.   Intense deep caramel, minimal sudsy head, dies on the spot, no lacing.   Pretty much what I expected.   Strong musty caramel nose... oh, and HUGE oxidation.   Surprisingly caramel sweet, brown sugar, very musty and basement like on the tongue.   Despite the oxidation, its not half bad.   Sweetness dies quickly.   Not much body is left on this one.   Lingering caramel sweetness, strong but dull in flavor.   Otherwise strong and dank basement mustiness.   Held up fairly well for 12 years despite the oxidation.

22oz. Bottle: Aroma of latex paint, dirty laundry, and some hops. Poured orange/amber in color with a small beige head that lasted around the edges. Cloudy. Not sparkling. Medium to heavily sweet flavor. Tastes of malts, hops, caramel, and pine. Light to medium body. Thin, dry texture. Soft to average carbonation. Thin, sweet, hoppy finish is lightly dry.

egajdzis (4896) - Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 20, 2006
Poured a hazy, reddish amber color with a medium sized, light tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of raspberries, tart grapes, prunes, vanilla oak, nougat, caramel malts, and nuts. Taste of sweet caramel malts, green apples, dried fruits, and medium alcohol in the finish.

Clear copper with a light tan head. Perfumy floral hop aroma. Smooth rich mouthfeel. Cotton candi sweet flavors with mild pit fruit and metallic notes. Strangly acidic finish. Decent overall.
