Growler courtesy of Bockyhorsey: Pours a transparent copper red with a thin, wispy-lacing off-white head. Aroma of sweet caramely malt and some light fruity notes with a touch of piny hops. Body starts fairly full and caramely sweet with a nice light fruity complexity before a drier, slightly toasted finish. A pretty decent barleywine, but could use a touch more balance.

Sep 28, 2008 1L bottle 1999 vintage. Murky brown pour, not much head. Rich malty aroma. Ooo, that has held up very well. Rich smooth flavor lots of depth, just spectacular. No hint of alcohol, just beautiful.

Sep 7, 2008 Cloudy orange colour with a beige head. Malty, buttery and light fruity aroma with hoppy and acidic notes. Malty, caramel sweet flavor with fruity and acidic notes.

Aug 10, 2008 Shared this with a friend awhile back. I am glad I did, because I do not think I could have made it through it all by myself. First thing I notice is the low amount of carbonation, but has some ripe fruitiness and a high level of malty sweetness, and a bit of vanilla that sticks around leading into a sticky mouthfeel. Could be a little more hoppy to add some much needed bitterness in the finish.

Aug 2, 2008 A lot of caramel in the aroma, but also with dark fruit. The beer is copper brown. Flavor of caramel, but it has a weird finish perhaps a bit of acidly.

Jul 31, 2008 Hazy deep amber with tiny off white head. Sweet aroma with toasted malt, ripe fruits, caramel and hoppy notes. Sweet fruity flavor with hoppy, caramel and fruity notes. Ends bitter.
