2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Can. Golden little head. 1895 has grainy and sweet taste with little bitter, but more complex than the simple Soproni has. It is one of the better Hungarian commercial lagers.

1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 6/20
Golden with a little head. Nothing for aroma. Empty old soggy bread taste. The can brags that it was brewed with saaz hops and for a second there you can almost catch some of it on the sides of your palate, but not much. Surprisingly really awful and soulless, skip it.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Had this on tap in Hungary and it actually wasn’t too bad. Golden colour, medium to large soft white head. Nose is dry grassy, straw, little toffee and sweetness from the malt. Taste is grass, straw, dry lager yeast, but with some slightly sweeter flavours than the average lager. Toffee, and slight bready.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
It is not a bad beer, classical but drinkable. I went several times in Hungary and I was drinking often this beer. Of course, it was before the microbreweries. The color is yellow and clear, thin foam, typical from the lager. There is a nice side of bitterness with the hop and some malt. It is a nice beer particulary during the hot days in Budapest.
