1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Pours a clear golden color which is topped with quite decent white head, settling down relatively quick.
There’s not much to the nose, only a weak hoppy aroma.
The taste is light, slightly sweet at the beginning, follwoed by a mild bitterness all the way to the finish.
Not much to the taste here, but you get the desired refreshment out of it. Nothing complex about Soproni.

A nice lager for a hot day or just to share a small talk with friends. Go well with cold weather also...

1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
500ml bottle from a supermarket in Budapest, clear yellow colour, medium rocky mostly diminishing head, fair lacing. Moderately malty aroma of cereal and cookie along with light grassy hops. Flavour is light sweet and acidic initially, turning into a short slightly bitter finish with a chalky/starchy feel, light to medium body, dry texture that turns watery fairly quickly, lively carbonation. Tolerable bulk lager with nothing wrong on a hot day, more watery and less tasty than the 1895 variety of it which is certainly worth the marginally higher price.

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Big very white head. Clear yellow body with light carbonation. Light, mealy, faint aroma. Dryish mealy faintly grassy taste with herbal notes. Mid-bodied. Slightly watery harsh mouthfeel. Dryish mealy grassy aftertaste with herbal earthy notes. Decent, but intensely boring, with hardly any flavour. No off flavours, at least. (0.5l draft in the bar at Kempinski Corvinus, Budapest.)
