COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A tropical thunderstorm of Northwest hops against a sky of clean, dry malt. Crisp yet eminently satisfying for the extreme hop lover, Humulo Nimbus has a balance that brings it all together into one seriously quaffable Double IPA

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating but was purchased recently. Pours lightly hazy orange amber color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings to the glass. Aromas of huge mango, orange, grapefruit, pineapple, tangerine, passion fruit, caramel, floral, and light herbal. Fantastic aromas with huge tropical fruit notes; it is unlike any other DIPA I have had in the past. Big hop sweetness; but it is so inviting even without the pine resin I am so used to having in an IPA. Taste of big orange, pineapple, mango, caramel, pine, grapefruit, passion fruit, tangerine, orange rind, floral, honey, and herbal spiciness. Nice amount of spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of tropical fruits, citrus, citrus rind, pine, caramel, floral, herbal, and grass on the finish for a good bit. Fantastic hop complexity and malt balance; zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a fairly creamy, slick, and crisp mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a fantastic DIPA. Huge hop complexity and balance; very smooth and easy to sip on. This was truly unique as a DIPA, and highly enjoyable.

Rating #1029 - March 18, 2014 - 12 oz on draught at Beer Revolution 8.5%. Pours a darker amber, with a bubbly tan head. Aroma is citrusy, grapefruit hops predominant. Taste is extremely hoppy, lots of cool citrus notes - mild tropical, mild pine, mild orange zest. Extraordinarily balanced - the sweet met with doses of bitterness, and they all linger into the finish. Superb. Nearer my God to thee, cloudbier.

Pours clear amber with a tall white head. Juicy malt and citrus hop aroma. The flavor is on the sweet side, typical of many IIPAs.

Big, syrupy, malty bitter double IPA. This dark amber, semi-cloudy hop explosion is thick and viscous. It has a thick, white head and consistent lacing. Tastes of light maple with pungent west coast hop profile.

Bottle to glass. Pours a clear deep copper amber color with an off white head. Aroma is an exquisite fleshy tropical fruit hops with some caramel sweetness. Flavor is mildly bitter and has a strong fleshy fruit malty sweetness. Medium body with a syrupy mouthfeel. Quite tasty.

Upon popping the top, a blast of fragrant grapefruit hits the nose. Just a wonderful smell. That cannot last and what HN becomes is more of an Imperial IPA. Heavy on caramel and a piney bitterness. Quite heavy.

On tap at sushi in mccall. Red amber pour with some off white head. Great floral citrus aroma. Nice hoppy flavor that was mild compared to the smell. Very good palate that was very smooth. Very drinkable and tasty.

Bottle from Legacy Liquor, Vancouver
Muddy light amber color with medium sized head. Hop aroma, intense, fruity; but also some cheese and yeast. Good body strength; round mouthfeel; the caramel flavor is moderately sweet, with a toffee accent; strong bitterness; the hops contribute with strong resins and some orangey fruitiness; also the flavor has a trace of cheesy yeast.
Good but rough, unclean; if refined, could be very good, because the good hops are there.

You know, you’d think with all the money put into this fancy ass bottle, they’d think to toss a date of some sort, hell a fucking code would be nice. Instead, there is a well designed, elegantly labeled bottle of androgyny aged ale. Pours a coppered amber with a finger of light caramel foam that falls to a sheet of the same. Smells of resin, tropical fruits, pine and hints of sweet malts. I can’t tell you how fresh this is, but this is as close to the nose of Heady Topper as I can recall, with just a hint more sweetness. Outstanding nose. Fairly strong malt backbone with good aggressive hops. Wow, I’m really, really enjoying this beer. Medium on light syrup body with moderate carb and semi dry finish. To be honest, this is the best DIPA I’ve had this year. Absolutely exceeded and blew away my expectations. I will be purchasing many more of these. Serving type: bottle 03-23-2012
