3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 5000 (4971) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - APR 28, 2013
Bottle:   Dirty golden, a bit hazy, moderate frothy white head, spotty lacing.   Bready nose, slight grain, even a touch of blackened banana.   Seems somewhat yeasty on the tongue, somewhat like an American Tripel, but its also has some graininess and a smidgen of ashtray to it.   Breadiness doesn’t linger long.   A bit of wet straw like grassiness brings up the backside.   I was hoping this one would be a little light, fluffy, a bit bright, but its heavier, yeastier, and more bready than I care for.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate to full.   Coats the tongue well.   Lingering grassiness after the finish.   Light sweetness as well.   Its okay, but not one I would reach for again.
2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 MartinT (6934) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - APR 25, 2013
My Bottom Line:
Earthy yeast, muddled sugars and fruity esters swim within this amateurish brew.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam circles the cloudy dark beige.
-Carbonation was very low, which doesn’t make sense at all for this type of brew. But perhaps this was the bar’s fault?
-The yeasty omnipresence neared astringence at times.
-The entire flavor profile was not well defined.
-The sugary flavors were a bit caramelized, a bit honeyed.
On tap at Devil Craft, Tokyo.

Hazy golden amber color. Very estery, mildly fruity. Med body very Belgian estry. Simple Belgian pale ale.

22 oz. bottle- Pour hazy orange with a head that reduces to a collar of big bubbly foam. Aroma is kind of basic, spicy hops, maybe some yeast. The taste is much more Belgian, yeasty and banana esters, it tastes like a Belgian golden ale, not bad.
4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 Hanuta06 (142) - Washington, USA - MAR 24, 2013
Serving: from bottle--purchased at Sound Brewery.
Aroma: lightly floral and citrusy.
Appearance: small, off-white, initial head with no lacing and fully diminishing longevity. Hazy, orange body.
Taste: lightly sweet and citrusy initial flavor and lightly acidic/sour grapefruit-like finish with average duration.
Palate: light body, watery texture and lively carbonation.
Overall: excellent. Exceptional taste. Easy to drink and refreshing.
2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 jgb9348 (3964) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - MAR 21, 2013
Crisp copper coloured body with a very thin off-white head. Aroma of pale malt, yeast, bread, pepper, bubble gum and a hint of curacao. Light-bodied; Pungent yeast flavour up front with a definite belgie characteristic, some lighter malt notes, a hint of earthy hops and a little toffee sweetness. Aftertaste shows mainly malt flavours with a hint of earth, some very light sugars and at the tail end - a little of the complex belgian yeast strain, but not enough to rescue the beer. Overall, a below par offering with some good thoughts, just not well executed. Still, nice to sample this beer that I’d never find on the East Coast, but wish I would have packed something better in my bag across the country. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Pear Delicatessen in Seattle, Washington on 11-February-2013 for US$3.83 sampled at home in [the real] Washington on 21-March-2013.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 KyotoLefty (4725) - Kyoto, JAPAN - MAR 3, 2013
Draught at Q-Brick. Amber-orange with lace. Estery nose, with peaches, earthy. Fruity, earthy flavor, again esters and stone fruits. Quite bland and boring. Doesn’t really go anywhere.
