I liked this brew. Pours a bright orange with a thick off white head. The aroma is fruity and lightly tropical with bursts of pine and hop resins. Refreshing, crisp and clean with a heavy hop flavour profile. Caramel and light malts. Good balance.

16oz serving at YEG Beer Revolution. Godlen-orange coloured, hazy. Thin white head. Orange, grapefruit with some peach in the nose. Taste has dry grainy malt, grapefruity hops, orange pith. Medium length hoppy finish with good dryness and lingering orange pith notes. Satisfying.

Pint on tap at Beer Revolution’s Edmonton location pours a golden coor with a small white head that leaves some decent lacing on the glass. Aroma is light fruity and citrus. Taste is a light grapefruit bitterness with a grainy malty sweetness. Light to medium bodied with moderate carbonation. A nicely balanced easy to drink IPA.

22. I feel like I should deliver this rating in person out of deference to the brewer’s feelings, but I’d rather the facts be public so they know. Because it’s not like I’ve met them yet. Heard a lot of great things about this beer, and it looks like some ratings bear that out--but others are closer to the experience we had last night. Poured a murky medium amber with a loose tan head. Nose was soapy and cheesy--cheesy like expired hops. Slick medium body with very little carb. Soapy, cheesy mid palate; others got butterscotch and artichokes but I didn’t. This is way, way out of character for Sound, IME, and it looks like it’s out of character for this beer at least maybe half the time. Hope to try an ace batch sometime in the near future.

Draft - Nice candy sweetness, lemon grass and fresh hops. Clear gold with a decent white head. Sweet candy, lemon grass, big vegative notes and a long bitterness. Bright and easy drinking.

Tap at PInt Defiance. Way too sweet for an IPA. More like a Belgian golden.

According to the folks at the brewery, this was brewed once for Latona’s 15th anniversary (in Seattle), and once again for the brewery. Pours a golden ale with a solid sheet of white foam and leaves rope lace. Grapefruit, tangerine, mango, mint and grass - really digging the fruit in the nose here - a winner from this aspect. Nice sweetness combated with a healthy bitterness accented with peach and hemp and grapefruit rinds. Medium bodied with moderate on hi carb and a wet, slick finish. A really good beer. I’ve had over five pints in the last three days. This brewery kills IPA’s for me. Love ’em. Serving type: on-tap 07-16-2012
