Dry hopped, and fermented with an aromatic Belgian yeast strain, Monk’s Indiscretion has an intense tropical hoppy aroma and flavor, with balanced bitterness, and is scarily drinkable for such a strong beer. *** 2012 NABA Bronze Medal Winner. *** 2011 US Beer Open Gold Medal Winner. *** 2011 Seattle Caskfest 3rd place People’s Choice. Rating #1051 - April 7, 2014 -On tap at the Underground, 12 oz pour, 10%. Clear golden pour with a giant head with decent retention. Gorgeous, tropical aroma billows out - pineapple, mango, passionfruit. Taste is definitely full bodied, good yeast character, and just enough spice to be pleasant and refreshing. Generously hopped but not weightily bittered. Phenomenal.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy amber color with a moderate off-white head on it. Nose is really interesting, and reminds me a lot of a double IPA - I get some floral and citrus hoppy notes, which really make me want to drink this. Taste is sweeter than I normally like, with some floral elements and a bit of the traditional Belgian yeast coming through. Decent, though.

Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver

Amber color, clean, with small creamy head. The aroma is strong, fruity, with some peach, mango, oranges. Good body strength, round mouthfeel; the malt flavor is quite anonymous, moderately sweet, with a nice fruit touch and strong bitterness, ending with soft resins. Don’t expect a piney DIPA.
An American sweet interpretation of Belgian Ales with the hopping of a DIPA.
Good powerful and clean beer, but unemotional.

This was a great strong ale with an intense citrus aroma. Taste is mostly sweet but has the hop flavours and bitterness of an ipa. This one took me by surprise. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Clear golden yellow pour with small white head. Aroma of pine needles, fruit, caramel and bread dough. Taste of peach, apricot, caramel, yeast and a strong hop presence and finish. Full bodied, medium carbonation. Pretty good beer but a little cloying.

Lagerboy (1656) - British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 6, 2014
Bomber. Mostly clear orange yellow, yeast chunks, firm white foamy head mostly lasts. Pungent fruity hop aroma, apricot and pineapple. Intense tropical fruity hop forward taste, very low bitterness, solid milder caramel malts. Average carbonation, medium-full bodied, more aggressively hopped. A stronger, bigger beer, yet ABV remains well hidden. Delicious. NFL (Not For Lagerboys)
