UPDATED: NOV 16, 2013 On Draft at Lezzet’s part of a 1000 yen tasting set. Obviously an American craft beer following the current trend of adding tons of hops to every style. You definitely feel the 10%, a decent gold color and mouthfeel. My first impression was a piney floral aroma followed by a strong hoppy taste and some warming in my stomach. It is pretty nice but not my cup of tea, if you like your beers hoppy & strong this beers for you. Shared from a bottle at Tadg’s, it poured aclear amber color with a hoppy, fruity peppery nose & a slightly sour fruity taste. Much better from the bottle served in a snifter.

This beer pours a hazy dark golden-orange color with a medium off-white head that dissipates steadily to a film. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of yeast, fruit and malt. Medium to full body with flavors of fruit, herbal hops and yeast. The finish is fruity with an earthy yeast aftertaste. Above average overall.

650ml bomber pours a golden orange color with a 2 finger white head that has good duration and leaves some spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma is light fruits with some spices and floral hop notes. Taste is a spicy hop bitterness with a light fruity and malty sweetness with a bit of yeast in the finish. Alcohol is hidden very well. Medium to heavy body with tons of carbonation. A truly fine example of a strong Belgian ale.

Draught at Kamikaze. Bright, glowing gold-orange with lace. Big grassy hops in the nose, citrus, light bread, sweet orange. Tasty. Lightly sweet at first but a dry finish, grassy, citrus zest, some pineapple, peaches; nice balance. Light but persistent Belgian fizzyness. Great stuff.

beerproject (129) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - NOV 20, 2012
Aroma is tropical fruity and malty sweet. You have to give it a good swirl though, as the carbonation is low. Taste is surprisingly smooth for the 10% abv, with a smooth bitterness throughout and notes of tropical hoppiness, caramel maltiness, warming alcohol and that characteristic barleywine like flavor from a huge OG. The finish is smooth and leaves you with a lingering bitterness.
