Cask conditioned at Coventry Beer Festival ’08. Gold with white bubbly head. It has to be said that this was in great condition, lovely fruity aroma, peaches and apricot. The body is fruity, sl sweet malts, again with a peachy note, then a blast of citrusy lemony hops, a really decent and lasting beer, that I could have spent the afternoon drinking, but still not my beer of the Festival, great though.

A Mes rate: Gravicask at Coventry Beer Festival.
Gold with a slight brown tinge, a thin white head and probably the best condition of any that I had at the festival. Big citric, torpical hops and some good malt in the background. Big grapefruit in the flavour. The hops are caried really well by the excellent bready malt. Slight fatty note at the finish but the rest is so good I’m quite happy to let it slide. Bags of character and flavour. Superbly drinkable. Only the Brits can make beer like this. Bloody excellent.

Cask, handpump @ The Powder Monkey, Exmouth, Devon.
Produces up a yellow gold and just off bright with a persistent, compact white crown that manages good legs. Nose has hints of sour citrus like lime and lemon peel, a touch of sweet fruit flesh, and a good lot of wheat like notes and barnyard grain. Juicy and tangy ripe citrus fruit in the mouth, a little pineapple mixed with notes of pinewood. The backend is all nettles, raw, bitter hop flowers and quenching citric esters. The body light and a little residual carbonation gives it bounce. A good base of pale malt flavour keeps the fruit notes level. It gets better as the pint empties. This is a great bitter with all the hallmarks of a Golden ale. Nicely done, solid session material!

Cask at Merton Summer Beer and Cider Festival 17-07-09 Pours the colour of warm urine with white head. There is a wonderful fruity and also confectionery nose to this beer, there is something else on the nose that I just cannot put my finger on. Nice hoppiness and there is plenty of fruit to carry things on, nice beer. A8 A4 F7 P4 Ov14 3.7

bottle from Dart’s Farm. Hazy golden yellow with a huge white head, very persistent. Hoppy-fruity nose. Full-bodied, bitter-sweet. Solid malty base with lovely hop flavours and cirtus fruit character. A delicious bitter. Lively carbonation.

Bottle from Tuckers Maltings. Amber with a slight white head and trace of carbonation. Citrus, orange blossom an caramel aroma. Sweet, malty flavour, with plenty of marmalade a touch of spiciness, and citrus hop, dry finish. Very good.

UPDATED: SEP 3, 2010 1. Cask Stillage at the Howcroft Inn, Bolton 11/10/2003 Golden coloured and sweet on the palate with some alcohol present. A hint of dryness in a lasting malt finish. 2. Cask Handpump at the GBBF, Earl’s Court 05/08/2010 Hop aroma. Golden coloured fruity and hoppy with a hint of dryness in a malt finish.

Cask@GBBF2010. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is fruits, wood, some earthy and floral notes as well. Flavour is earth, bready malts, some fruity and floral hops along with a rather grassy finish.

Cask @ GBBF 2010. Pours a golden color with a small white head. Has a fruity malty hoppy floral aroma with hints of citrus. Has a fruity malty citrus flavor with hints of caramel. Has a fruity malty hoppy citrus finish.

Cask @ 12th Ayrshire Real Ale Festival, Troon 2011. Clear golden colour, off-white head. Nose is light malted, fruity, citrus. Flavour is light malty, sour lemonade. Slightly sweet finish.
