COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
You are holding a pure artisan craft ale, free of any additives. This is a real ale. Unfiltered and unpasteurized, so a small amount of sediment in the bottom of the bottle is natural. South Plains RIP is made with North American hops to balance the huge amounts of English malts that give this dark ale it’s complex and generous flavor. Imperial Porter is a style that is higher in alcohol, bearing more flavor than traditional porters. Store this beer in a cool, dark place. When it’s young it’s very heartwarming. As it ages it will get smoother and smoother.

Bottle 33cl from Henrik thanks, a dark beer with medium brown head. Nose is unctuous on dark chocolate, coffee and roasted coffee beans notes. Aroma is again on dark caramel, dark chocolate coffee, over roasted coffee, light licorice, quite creamy, very nice body. Finish is again on the same dark malt direction with light ashes notes, well done beer.

Bottle, bought @ systembolaget, hyltebruk. Mega gusher... All over the living room :-( the 10 cl that went into my glass is black with a thin beige film head. Aroma has roasted malts, dark chocolate, light metallic, some tar and mild acetone. Medium carbonation, fairly dry and light creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has quite a bit of viniousness, dark roasted malts and some plums. Light smoky towards the end. Also feels a bit light in the finish.

250ml, draught at Bishop Arms. Naked surface, only a ring to the edge of the glass. Black as pitch. Dark malty smell with vanillas sweetness. Flavour of dark roasted malts and anise offset by notes of pine needles towards a bittersweet tail. Masked alcohol. Surprisingly easy to drink. Likable without further excitements (Copenhagen, 22.05.2013).

Bottle. Fairly deep cigar, burning grass and wood smoked, soy, roasted. Black, low head. Smoked, roasted, dark chocolate, soy saltiness, herbal notes. Medium to light body, wooden dryness - slightly more chewiness would be good..

UPDATED: FEB 23, 2014 06.05.2013, tap @ Bishops Arms, Copenhagen:
Rar røsta lukt med preg av mørk røsta malt, humle, grønsåpe, vått lær, kaffi, alkohol, maling, gras, tre, brent karamell. Lett tørr og sødmerik smak med preg av mørkbrent malt, humle, torv, vått lær, brent kaffi, kakao, brent karamell, gras, aske, grønsåpe, tre. God bitterhet som set litt. Grei.

Pours black with a tanned brown head that disappears fairly quick. Smells of charcoal and aromas I associate with sourness from dark malts. Taste like an bitter ashtray. Mouthfeel is pretty thin for the beer. I’m disappointed.

Black colored beer with hardly any head. Aroma and taste of burned malts, coffee and pure chocolate. Oily, sticky mouthfeel. Some alcohol warming in the end.
