COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
You are holding a pure artisan craft ale, free of any additives. This is a real ale. Unfiltered and unpasteurized, so a small amount of sediment in the bottom of the bottle is natural. South Plains RIP is made with North American hops to balance the huge amounts of English malts that give this dark ale it’s complex and generous flavor. Imperial Porter is a style that is higher in alcohol, bearing more flavor than traditional porters. Store this beer in a cool, dark place. When it’s young it’s very heartwarming. As it ages it will get smoother and smoother.

Bottle. Pours black with a latte coloured head. Nice portersque sourness in aroma. Also toffee and licorice. Taste has got notes of licorice, coffee beans and vanilla. I like how this beer is a porter and not an imperial stout... as many imperial porters tend to be.

Bottle @ home, batch 3, BB 2014-03. Pours almost black with a brown lasting head. Roasted and sweet aroma with coffee, chocolate, licorice, soy, metal & vinous risins. Medium bodied with high carbonation. Bitter and quite sour taste with soy, tart roasted malts, grape zest, chocolate, coffee, licorice. Dry bitter, metallic and sour finish with lingering lime & figs. Infected?

Black color with a big beige head. The big beige head was due to a really rich carbonation. The lively carbonation destroyed it a bit. To fizzy. Otherwise some cacao, chocolate and coffee. Would have been decent with a more moderate carbonation.

Bottle fromt rade with Cunningham, many thanks Henrik. Almost black colored beer with huge beige head towering over my glass. Roasted malt, dark chocolate with distinct tartness in aroma. Roasted malt, dark chocolate, licorice in taste overlapped with strong brett tartness. I am not sure if this was intended, but it turned out to tasty beer.

Bottle. Black body with a lively growing tanned head, so lively we feared infection, but luckily it didn’t taste infected at all. Aroma of roasted malt, cocoa, ash, plums. Taste of strong coffee with chocolate, almonds, light fruity, strong bitterness with a nice though shorta aftertaste of coffee and alcohol. Not bad in any way.

Gushy bastard! Opaque dark brown beer,.small pale tan head. Palate is airy and light with fine carbonation. The dark malt is rich but never too roasty or bitter. Little coffee and a light tang. Whisper of dark fruits. More coffee before an airy finish. All right.

Deep aroma of cocoa, coffee and a hint of vanilla. Opaque black, with small brown head. Taste is neither sweet nor very bitter: starts with a very bready and toasty note (like biting on a toast) and fades into very mild malty aftertaste. No hint of alcohol despite high ABV. Full body but slick mouthfeel, low carbonation.
