3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle - Pours deep brown with a rapidly dissipating frothy tan head. Nose is light bourbon sweetness with pronounced creme de menthe, chocolate, and a bit of coffee grounds. Real smooth, with a nice medium roast, creme de menthe, irish creme, a bit of sweet oaky bourbon. A bit of a flat finish, with a bit of coffee and some sweet syrupy flavors mingling with the oak. A little thinner than I expected, and not a ton of carbonation. Going to have to agree with some of the others that it tastes a bit artificial, but it still works pretty well. For one pour, itís pretty pleasant.

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
UPDATED: JUL 18, 2014 Bottle: Thanks, Jeff! Extremely black body, dark beige head lasting as a thin film most of the way down. Aroma has heavy mint, coffee grounds, chocolate malt, light roast... no real indication of bourbon barrel aging on the nose. Taste is also heavy mint, with a mild menthol-like quality... Notes of chocolate, borderline York Peppermint Patty, some tobacco notes in the back-end, roasted malt, burnt coffee grounds, & a mild plum sweetness. Thereís a raw whiskey tone that grows heavier with warmth & makes this harder to drink, as the finish gets quite abrasive. Starts off good, but gets a little too harsh & cumbersome fairly quickly. Had promise but kind of fell flat.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
22oz bottle. Rating #69 (haha). Dark cola brown with a tan head. Big mint aroma with some vanilla and chocolate and coffee to add a bit of bitterness. Flavor is decent, more mint and coffee with some dark chocolate and a little bourbon, not bad, but it needed a little more body for the barrel aging. (2796)

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Always thought adding mint to a stout would be good, so now I finally tried a pour at RBSG. Pours out black with a thin tan head. Aroma is of coffee, chocolate, roast, and very subtle mint notes. Taste is chocolate, heavy oaky bourbon, roast, coffee and some lingering mint in the background. Lots going on.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Poured from a 22 ounce bomber. Big aroma of mint, coffee, and tobacco. The flavor is minty, tobacco, a slight brettanomyces character, bourbon. This is a bit muddled.

Terrible... Things in this beer were mixed that should not have been mixed.. first off mint and bourbon.. no.. I thought this sounded interesteding but a 2oz sample was still too much.

Sampled at ABR07. I have to say, these guys ruined my day. All the rare, one-off beers and I have the best one within 20 minutes of walking in. This thinkg was delicious. Superbly well done coffee flavor that doesnít bite the stomach. Intense mint Aroma and flavor with a bit of chocolate hanging around. Thick body. Mint flavor lingered quite a while.

750ml bottle poured into snifter. Dark black pour with thin head. Aroma has slight hints of peppermint and chocolate but not a lot of bourbon. Flavor isnít too exiting. Very faint hints of chocolate and malt, other then that itís somewhat bland and boring.
