poured a deep brown with a fizzy tan head that fades. aroma was very upfront with mint, then cinnamon, oak, and chocolate. flavor was mint, watery coffee, dark roasts, and alcohol. body was thin and fizzy. I had really high hopes for this one. I just wish the base was an impy stout or something stronger.

Dark black pour with a nice tan head. Strong bourbon and mint nose - really wonderful! Not too thick, but a big burst of coffee, bourbon and heavy mint in the taste. Unlike any other beer I have has before, really nice!!!

On tap at the Great Lakes Brew Fest. Pours a dark black with red hints. Aroma is grassy, lemony, bourbon with chocolate. Watery flavors, chocolate grassy. Meh.

Wow! That was my initial reaction- incredibly tastey. Makes you want to lick the entire glass inside and out after you are finished. Poured a very dark, thick black colour with a reddish tint. Head was finger sized, brown and sticky. Creamy mouthfeel is an understatement. Minty, dark chocolate and coffee notes. Faint but noticeable oak and whiskey spirit underlining the taste of this beer. Awesome!

Had this at the All Pints North festival in Duluth, MN. Has an awesome mint chocolate chip ice cream scent, taste however was disappointing, it was rather artificial almost like mint flavored floss.

July 21, 2012 from a bottle at All Pints North. Dark brown pour with some head. Bourbon, mint, coffee and chocolate in aroma and taste. Medium body and little carbonation. Really solid beer, but I am a sucker for bourbon.

Oily black pour with a nose of fresh mint and java. Flavors follow pretty much a straight line...mint, coffee, chocolate, touch of the bourbon barrel. Just OK.

Bomber pours a dark brown/black with a thin tan head. I’ll have to agree it smells a lot like chocolate chip mint ice cream with a backing of bourbon, not in a bad way though. Wow nice taste! Earthy coffee, a hint of mint, sweet chocolate, and rounded out with vanilla and bourbon. Very well rounded and drinkable. From the aroma you’d think the mint would be overpowering but no one element is every dominate. Very drinkable, nice! I need more of this stuff.

Aged about a year. Pours dark brown to black. Small brown head that dissipates to a fair soapy lasting beige topping. Interesting and unique aroma. Someone said mint chocolate ice cream and that’s right there. Theres some smooth bourbon there as well. I think the age has helped take some edge off. Flavor is much the same but much less substantial. Body is a bit light, thin. Finish is sorta tangy, light roasty with some mint. A good beer but does not compare to the big boys.
