3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle (12oz). via trade with Ughsmash. Poured dark opaque bubbly brown with a decent fizzy brown head. Roasty aroma - fruity malt, cola sweetness, nut oils, wet leaves - not bad. Taste is surprisingly bitter - cola/fruit dark roast malt, some chocolate and mild mocha, hops - but the finish is still a little cola-sweet. Mouthfeel is decently carbonated, bitter, slightly watery - like a lot of stouts, needs more body, and a little sweet, but decently roasty.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Clear very dark brown. Roasted cocoa dominance, but slightly phenolic at the same time and surprisingly sulfury in mouth, which was certainly unexpected from a stout. Simplistic cigary and oaky palate, rather dry, heavily roasty.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Black, brownish head. Thick and full bodied, with an aroma of chocolate and butterscotch (in a good way). Smooth and filling, with a flinty, coffee flavor up front. smooth, latte -like finish. Very enjoyable. Thanks to Jewedekind for the trade!

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz bottle, via NachlamSie. Pours a pitch black colored body under a large fizzy and foamy light brown head that has good retention. Aroma is quite roasty with a good dose of coffee, burnt malt, cocoa, chalk, and a bit of caramel. Flavor is roasty and fruity up front with a little bit of coffee. Finishes slightly sour with some ashy burnt malt, caramel, and cocoa. The mouthfeel is extremely fizzy to the point where it actually foams up as soon as it hits the tongue. This seems to be in the very early stages of an infection that is wreaking havoc on the carbonation level. Overall, if the carbonation of this had been a little more pleasing then it would have fared much better overall. It would be worth a try I think.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draft at The Old Fashioned. Opaque black with an oily head. Pleasant coffee aroma. Smooth and mellow body, somewhat dry. Roasty with a subdued cocoa edge. Easy drinking, but full bodied enough to slowly sip. Solid Stout, with some coffee edges. Well done.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
This has been in our fridge for a while - canít really remember where it came from, but Iím sure I owe thanks to someone - large tan head over an opaque body with lots of floaties - aroma of wood, sweet cream, crystal malt - very woody for a stout, with a heavy coffee roastiness - high but soft carbonation in the mouth - slight grape and anise - quite a nice stout.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draught at the ABR 2006. Available in bottles at Chicones, Hudson , WI. thick and better than average oatmeal stout, even though I donít know if there is actually any oatmeal in it. Roasted barley, and some nuts. Black with an impressive head. Simple but the substantial body and full flavor make this a winner.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Brown opaque with a deep tan, somewhat fizzy, head. Aromas of roast barley, molasses, and slightly vinous and alcohol as it warms. Sweet roasted barley, light caramel, and toast flavors. A decent sweet stout with a dry malty finish.

3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
I liked the taste of this solid brown brew, a roasted malt with a good helping of chocolate, some dark coffee, and a touch of nutty bitterness in the finish. It looked just fine, too. But I swear, there was NO AROMA AT ALL. None of the other folk present at the The LoSBD meeting could detect one either. Weird.
