A dark beer with a light body, served on nitrogen to give it a rich, creamy head. Shenandoah Joes’ espresso imparts perfectly balanced coffee flavor to this decadent brew.

Aromas of milk chocolate and roasted coffee. Dark red-brown, off-white head with great retention. Taste is off-dry, with some flavors of chocolate and coffee, and slightly bitter. Body is medium-full, smooth, and creamy, carbonation is moderate, and the finish is short and redolent of chocolate ice cream.

From the tap flowed a brown brew with a thick nitro head. Aromas of coffee and malt. Medium bodied with a flavor dominated by coffee with a little malt and hops.

Tap. Dark brown with creamy head. Smells strongly of coffee and a tad sour. Tastes like coffee with sugar and cream in it. Blech- only because I dislike coffee with sugar. Creamy mouth feel.

Draft. Pours brown with a beige head. Dry roasty aroma with light chocolate notes. The flavor has roasted malts and coffee, with a lighter dark chocolate sweetness, followed by a nice bitter coffee finish. Solid.

Tap from brewpub. Poured a clear dark brown color with a creamy thick tan head. Aroma was roasted malts, chocolate, and a ton of coffee. Flavor was, espresso coffee, with notes of roasted malts. Not a fan of coffee? You might want to pass on it.

Served on nitro at the brewpub. Pours a clear brown color with a large creamy tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee and chocolate. Tastes of coffee, sweet malts, caramel and a faint hop finish. Medium bodied. Nice.
