Auburn color with a scant head. Quiet aromas with some hoppiness but otherwise inocuous. Maltiness is reserved. Watered-down iced tea?

Too smoky at bar to detect any aroma. Clear medium amber golden. Light fruityness, some grain in flavor. Touch of a winy note. Light body with a thin mouthfeel. Finish is clean but otherwise unremarkabe. Elwood (684), Leesburg, Virginia, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | May 9, 2009 Draft. Pours an amber color with a fine off white head. Nose is very light with some roasted notes and a touch of malt. Medium carbonation with a very light, watery, dry mouthfeel. Light roasted malt, caramel, and a touch of ash. Short and very clean finish. Left good lacing on the glass, but that was really all that was good. Pretty watery and tasteless. beerandIT (203), Richmond, Virginia, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 30, 2009 Lighter bodied. Very smooth amber ale. Malts on the palate, hint of hops but they are definitely hidden. Clean finish. Classic amber for the style. Not too much on really. Lacing the glass ok. phukktifano (159), Richmond, Virginia, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jan 1, 2009 Fitting brew for my 666th rating. Draft at the brewpub. Pours a dark amber with fair offwhite head. Fruity, roasty, and floral. Decent session beer I suppose. This is the second time ive had this beer, and it was not as good as I had remembered it to be originally. But it does have one of the best beer names ive come across. Cletus (5062), Connecticut, USA

Smells of earth, caramel, tea. Tastes of caramel, spice, dark fruit. Given the name, I’d expect something more assertive than this. Proteus93 (66), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Sep 29, 2008 A ruby, dark golden pour. Pretty much no head, which was a bit disappointing. There’s not a whole lot going on here at all.
Very malty, sweet and fruity... a little cherry? Nice.
Mild, a little fruity, barley sweet, with a touch of hops. Reasonable balance, but the taste is a little lacking, as is mouthfeel. Carbonation is alright in the beginning and becomes a bit watery on the finish.
Alright, but a little unimpressive all in all, unfortunately.
