Ungstrup (11570), Frederiksberg, Denmark Oct 5, 2006 A nut-brown beer with a brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel. The flavor has strong notes of alcohol which is present from the start to the finish with both a warming fealing as well as a note of metal, but it also has notes of caramel. The carbonation level is very high. Papsoe (11030), Frederiksberg, Denmark Oct 1, 2007 (Bottle 75 cl) Courtesy of boboski. Hazy amber golden with a handsome, light brown head. Fat aroma of wood and overripe fruit. Quite full-bodied, sweetish with notes of burned caramel, nuts, brown sugar and a hint of wood. Fairly high carbonation and a fairly hoppy finish - a little brutal hoppiness actually. 280907 yespr (7166), Copenhagen O, Denmark Oct 4, 2007 75 cL bottle, thanks to Papsoe. Pours golden orange to amber brown. Quite dried fruity aroma. Dried malty and quite dried fruity. Slight spiced finish. Oakes (6999), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Jun 11, 2006 Hazy amber-chestnut colour. Rich aroma is soft caramel and light earth. Good depth of chewy, earthy malts but limited in complexity. The sweet, moderately thick brew just seems basic, and doesn’t plum the depths of fruitiness and very dark maltiness that the best old ales do. joergen (6797), Frederiksberg, Denmark Oct 3, 2007 Bottle.
Cloudy orange red coloured with an off white head.
Sweet aroma of caramel and fruits with flowery notes (hyacinths).
Sweet flavour of caramel, liquorice and hops with notes of dried fruits.
