| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 2, 2008 a very nice quad, really nice fruity esters and tons of caramel sweetness...perhaps a bit much....possibly the sweetness would die down with some ageing....I would like to try an older bottle Chapel (330), Levittown, New York, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | May 23, 2008 Pours a deep amber. Aroma of some plum and nuttiness. Flavor follows in kind with a hint of sweetness. Alcohol counteracts the sweetness a little to make it drinkable. michael-pollack (2652), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA

Poured amber in color with a medium-sized, dense, creamy, off-white head that diminished but lasted throughout. Clear. Very sparkling. Very sweet flavor. Tastes of alcohol, raisins, sugar, roasted malts, and ripe fruit. Medium to full body. Tingly, then dry texture. Average to lively carbonation. Sweet, dry finish. Too sweet! | 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 16, 2008 I thought this was worthy of world class ratings. Very thin ale that is tart, crisp, and fruity with complex sugars and flavours throughout. Lots of brown sugar and maple syrup, but balanced out with sour fruitiness. One of the best beers I’ve ever had. Too bad it costs $10 a bottle. TaktikMTL (2771), Montréal-Nord, Quebec, Canada

(Rating #1663) stefanje (938), (Santee) San Diego, California, USA
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | May 3, 2008 Updated: Dec 12, 2008Bottle at Toncatcher’s tasting. Poured a rich copper color with medium beige head that lasted a fair while. The aroma was big and bold with dark fruits, barley, caramel and Belgian yeast. The flavor was overtly sweet and mellow with well balanced dark fruits, caramel and a touch of vanilla. The mouthfeel was extraordinarily smooth and creamy, I am reminded of the palate of the Westy 12. The finish was long with lingering sweet caramel. Overall: Awesome brew. The biggest surprise of the night for me. Must get more.
