Bottle shared by Dave from BT. Huge thanks, as I’ve missed this the other times it came out. Pours golden straw with minimal bubbles. Aroma is knock-your-socks of tart with lemons and even more prominently, olives! I’m not a fan of olives, but the aroma was very nice I must admit. The taste was unworldly with regard to this style. Massive sourness, with more lemons coming out and perhaps a white wine sort of feel. For a 2% beer, there is a ton of flavor. Finishes dry and tart. Man, this was too freakin’ good!

First of all, a huge thank you to Dave from BT for bringing this bottle and sharing it with us yesterday. It was a real treat. Pours a crystal clear gold with no head. Exceptional clarity. Very pleasant aroma of white grapes, tart apples, and citrus. The flavor is just superb: sour, tart and very bright with apples, citrus and a bit of the wheat funk. There is also some white wine acidity as well as some riesling sweetness present. Finish is very crisp and a bit dry. Excellent beer.

12 ounce bottle shared by Dave from BT. Pale clear cider color. White wine and olives aroma. Mildy tart white wine and limeade with fine sugar and mild cloy. Mostly still with some internal carbo. A lot like drinking a white wine. I’m still not sold on the style. Need to acquire the taste, I guess.

Bottle, at WeeHeavySDs 2000th rating party, thanks to wetherel! Pours a clear light gold with a small white ring. Huge funky aroma, with notes of malt, herbs, and grass. Taste is intensely sour, herbal, and grassy, with a hint of smoke, wood, and lemon. Lingering clean grassy sourness. Really different and excellent.

12 oz bottle from who else shared at WeeHeavySD’s 2000th rate tasting. Huge thanks Mike! Light yellow. Wow. very sour. This is very good. I was wondering what all the hooplah was all about, and how a 2% beer could make it to the top 50. Now I know. Tons of flavor and easy to drink. Oh man, I want a keg of this.

12 oz bottle shared at WeeHeavySD’s 2000th rate tasting. I liked Berliner Weisses when I first had them. Then I had a REAL sour ale. After that, I couldn’t find another good Berliner Weisse. But now I have. Wow, this is an amazing beer. lots of sour aromas and flavor. Still some wheat twang on the finish which brings you back to reality that yes, this IS a berliner Weisse. Very Very good.

Bottle from Wetherel, you are the man John. Pours yellow and slightly fizzy. Aroma of tart lemon and sour apple. Flavor was surprisingly sour, are berliner weisse’s usually this sour? Very excited to try this one.

12oz bottle, courtesy of wetherel. Thanks, John! Pours a hazy, whitish-straw color; thin white head with patchy lacing. Loads of white grape notes, lightly tart citrus, and doughy / tortilla (thanks, Ali!) notes in the aroma. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: loads of dense, tart citrus, lively and crisp acidity, and plenty of lemons and white wine grape notes; funky, horsey, solid Berliner weisse with a great balance of acidity and tarted up citrus. Lengthy finish: tart citrus, lemons, and basic dry core.
