Schroppfy (1733), Ohio, USA Jul 1, 2003 Multiple orange hues descend into the depths of the wine glass I'm using. Quite translucent around the edges. Lots of tiny foam bubbles cling to life before expiry. Aroma is fresh baked bread and yeast, a touch of white wine and some unidentifiable, unexpected sweetness - sugar? Chablis flavors, along with a melding of subtle bitterness and sugar. Effervescent on the palate but still of some real gravity. Is it just suggestion or is the alcohol hitting fast and furious? Winey like 3 Monts but better! On the other hand, has the haylike farmhouse complexity of La Bavasienne but sweeter - fabulous - a big thanks to TAR for this gem!
dchmela (775), Orlando, Florida, USA Oct 7, 2008 Bottle courtesy Durhambeer. Dark gold pour with a huge fluffy white head. Very light slightly fruity aroma, not very distinct. Tastes of malts, caramel, toffee, light fruit, yeast, light oak. Light to medium body. Thin, slightly chalky texture. Soft to average carbonation. Sweet, caramel finish. dalekliz (206), San Diego, California, USA Sep 24, 2008 Bottle, thanks to WeeHeavySD for sharing. Pours a hazy reddish-amber with a thick, foamy, off-white head. Aroma of malt, spices, apricot, and citrus. Taste is a bit sweet, of dried fruit, spices, sharper hops, and malt. Lingering sharp sweetness. Really tasty and very drinkable. fishingnet (856), Brandon, Florida, USA Sep 21, 2008 Bottle courtesy of Retorp. Pours a hazy copper with a one finger off-white head. Aroma of spicy yeast, biscuit malt, light caramel, and black pepper. Taste is the same as aroma. Medium mouthfeel with a mild to moderate amount of bitterness. Very good. sebletitje (372), Tampa, Florida, USA Sep 20, 2008 Courtesy of CigarCityBrew.
Pours a cloudy orange color, light head.
Aroma is sugary, yeasty.
Taste is fizzy / highly carbonated (even too much), caramel malts, thick on the palate (foamy), cane sugar and grains.
Not a bad beer, a little of a let down with the high carbonation.
