Had via bottle via gf that muled this sucka. Poured into my snifter from SH. Perfectly poured if I do say so myself. Wish I could have posted to YouTube.
A: Nice dark violet with a frothy head.
S: Lot of fruit, with a little tartness. Smells like a winner.
T: It’s a chicken dinner. Perfect mix of sweet and sour. You normally can’t fight the funk, but the fruit sure does. Not a nasty dunk...
M: A little more carbonated than I normally like, but I’ll refrain from saying crisp.
O: If you have a buddy that does not like Lambic, this would change their mind.

Call me a homer for this beer, but I could taste it in my mouth the day after I had it on tap at the release. I’ve since had it from the bottle, and it was exactly as I remembered. Acidic yet balanced with a perfect tart raspberry sweetness. Dark, but not so thick that you can’t enjoy a full pour of it. So - this is not blushing monk or framboise de amorosa. It’s also not framboise for a cure, which frankly in my mind lacked the funk or the complexity that this brew has. It stings, then it soothes, then it finishes clean. I have a few more of these and they are not for trade. Personal white whale right here. Markowski knocked it out the park on this bad boy.

Purple color with a small, off white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of wood, bacteria, brett, and lots of sweet juicy raspberries. Taste was woody, with light vanilla, lots of raspberry, and a lightly tart finish. Really a solid attempt.

On draught at the Publick House during their release party. Pours a very pretty clear purplish red with a thin pink head. Very pleasant aroma of tart raspberries along with just a bit of funk. The flavor is outstanding and is filled with tart raspberry, malt, oak, and again just a hint of funk. Clean and bright on the palate. The raspberry is incredible, so fruity and fresh. For me, this beer was the star of the release. Wonderful!
4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 Leighton (7183) - London, ENGLAND - DEC 14, 2012
Bottle at The Fruit Sour Tasting, London - huge thanks to Jack for procuring this one. Pours rich ruby with a very fine, white film of a head. Lovely, fresh raspberry aroma. Light sweet flavor with clean and fresh raspberry, lots of dryness, and a well and sour character. Light bodied with average, massaging carbonation. Dry finish with plenty of tart raspberry, light salt, light acidity, a bit of lip-quiver. Great.

Pour out of 750 mL big thanks to Jeff and Greg, aroma brings big notes of dark raspberry, with stem and vine, hints of lemon and lactic notes, touch of slight funk and vanilla, wow, this is big tart raspberry. Taste is big sour lemon, tart raspberry and sour seedy notes, some slight funk and deep cherry and berry notes, hints of biscuit and vanilla, finishes very tart and dry. While this might not be up most people’s alley, this is most of what I search for in a raspberry sour.

The taste is sour raspberry, raspberry pip, bramble, blackcurrant, jam, great sweet-sour balance, lemon, lip-smacking sourness, moderate acidity, granny smith apple and wood with a tart finish. Medium body and effervescent carbonation. Juicy, well-balanced and absolutely delicious. Truly one of the best American sours that I’ve ever tasted.
